Description: Spring Street Natural Restaurant was founded in 1973 in the heart of SoHo. The Restaurant quickly became a neighborhood fixture, serving up fresh, healthy cuisine at affordable prices to local denizens. In 1985 Spring Street Natural moved east to the corner of Spring and Lafayette. Tripling our space and adding abundant sunlight and windows, Spring Street Natural blossomed at this new corner location along with the surrounding area in what has become a vibrant neighborhood on the convergent edge of SoHo and NoLIta. Our philosophy from the beginning has been to serve whole natural foods that are minimally processed. Where ever possible we produce our items in house from fresh natural ingredients-- from organic whole wheat flour pie crusts to house made breads, fresh pasta, organic seitan and free range chicken sausages. We make the effort to ensure our produce and grains are certified organic wherever possible. All poultry is free range and naturally farmed without hormones. We are now in our fourth decade of serving healthy natural cuisine and still going strong. We offer a wide range of choices from completely vegan macrobiotic plates to sandwiches, salads, and innovative entrees with vegetarian, seafood and poultry choices. Be sure to check out our daily specials and join us for weekend Brunch, enjoy.

The most interesting thing about this place is that it is organic. Nothing special, i had a chicken burger, it was dry, and not very tasty, i had to fill it with ketchup each bite. The red wine wasn’t the best. The location watching everybody from Soho walk is astonishing.

We chose to eat outside on this beautiful evening. The wait staff spoke very little English and did not seem too interested in providing good service. We ordered stir fried vegetables with brown rice and kale salad with chicken upon his recommendation. TERRIBLE. The appetizers that WE chose from the menu were very good; farrow chicken soup and beet and... More

In the neighborhood & found Ed's Lobster too limited, too pricey & too empty, so I decided to try this place, as it was quite crowded. Nice selections of fairly healthy foods, but not a lot of egg dishes. The grilled shrimp over greens & veggies & a side of Applewood chicken sausage was pretty satisfying. Different kind of bread... After a nice walk through Soho my wife and I were headed to a restaurant I had read about in the NY Times --- After being seated there for a few minutes, we realized we could not abide the noise level and decided to take "pot luck" at some other place nearby. Voila! We happened on Spring Street Natural Restaurant,... More

We happened on this restaurant near our hotel on a family holiday to New York. I thought the choices were great- and especially loved that everything was fresh and organic. The service was good and the food was simple but delicious. The portions are plentiful and we were left totally satisfied! We had the pleasure of being there while a... More

Nice location, good atmosphere, friendly staff. My latte was slightly warmer than room temperature, not great flavor. French toast and breakfast sausage was good, toast part was better than sausage. The brussels sprouts salad was outsanding. I want to replicate it at home since it's a long way from our Southern California home. You win some you loose some, but... More

Went there for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. We had quite a few allergies and the waitress took it just as serious as you need to be able to enjoy visiting a restaurant.

We were tempted in by the interesting menu: it's a great people watching spot, but the greeter clearly hasn't gone to charm school and the waiters disappear for long periods so service is sketchy. Both our entrees were excellent but the mains were seriously disappointing. We don't plan on a repeat visit.

You can't miss with the fresh quality food. The portions are plentiful and the atmosphere is friendly and busy. Take your time in ordering. There are lots of choices and the staff can be in a hurry, but you don't need to be.

We were in NYC for a week with friends, and happy to take recommendations on where to eat. A lovely makeup artist at MAC on Broadway said we might enjoy this place so we walked straight over. We were seated immediately, and the service was absolutely fine (I live in England, so being acknowledged by restaurant staff is a miracle).... More
