Great ambiance

Great ambiance. Vegetarian friendly place with an interesting menu. Friendly service also. Not too noisy so a conversation was possible.

We had dinner last week with daughters, sons in laws, granddaughter and were placed in a dark dingy room in back. No windows. The service was fine but the food uninspiring. We were dissatisfied.

Great place for dining and a great local West Village bar. Seems to have a strong following of regulars from the neighborhood and can work equally well for a date night or a night with the guys. The salads, pasta and roast chicken are always predictably good and the deserts great. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Tight tables... More

We stopped off for drinks on the way back to our hotel and liked the look of the menu so we returned later to eat. The kitchen closes at 1.00am so no need to rush and it was worth it. Great and friendly service and the food was excellent but be aware the portions are generous so go when you... More

There's something really cozy about this place. Plus the people around you are locals and you feel as if this were your neighbourhood - which is most welcome for a tourist

Great place with good service. We both had a very delicious tomato basil soup. Wine, cava and beer. Fun idea for young and old that you were able to colour the tablecloth.

Two burgers and two beers (about $55 total) here were perfect in the pleasant old atmosphere of the pub. We could have split the huge hamburger and been satisfied, and the busy but nice server offered to substitute a salad for the fries, which was a nice touch. Fair selection of draught beer.

I used to love this place when I lived in NYC and while it is still good it doesn't quite have the magic of days gone by. The food is good, the beers plentiful and the staff friendly but it felt as if it had lost its sparkle a bit and was less cosy and welcoming than it used to... More

Visited early evening on 14th January after having been down to the WTC for the afternoon (E subway 14th Street and walk down to Jane Street). Great local place with a real buzz. Eat in the bar area or in the back where there are a few tables. Had fried, shredded brussel sprouts with apple and bacon to start (really... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
