Birthday

Great birthday dinner . Had to share the room with Newt Gingrich and his wife. Told him no selfies, and to leave us alone. The food was super as always and the service is always top notch. Save room for dessert and get the Tartufo. New Yorl pricey but not outrageous.

From the welcome you get the moment you walk through the door, to the buzzing bar and the fantastic display of hors 'd'oevre, including top notch sea food, this is a proper, proper old school Italian restaurant in New York and one that I always visit at least once during my stay. The waiters greet you like a long lost... More

Just finished my lunch, leftovers from last night's dinner Trattoria del Arte. This large, popular, warm, friendly, beautiful, family restaurant is located twenty steps south of the southwest corner subway (N, Q, R trains) entrance at 7th Avenue and 57th Street in Manhattan, NYC. It is just across the Avenue from Carnegie Hall. But look carefully; in such a busy... More

We were a party of 5, and were treated like VIPs the whole time we were there. Everyone had delicious food - antipasti, entrees and desserts. Interesting and beautiful decor.

Loud and big and busy. Great staff, helpful, engaging and had great knowledge of the menu and wine list. On arrival a platter of roast veg etc laid out while we looked over the menu. We ordered a number of appetisers, meat balls, barrata, sausage..all amazing! I had seagood pasta dish which was heavenly, other guests had scallop risotto and... More

Came to this restaurant with my family before a show at Carnegie Hall. We ordered the chicken parmesan, the tuna steak and the ravioli. The chicken parm was delicious, and the tuna steak was the best I've had. The ravioli was good as well, although I feel that it could have been served slightly warmer. Service was friendly -I have... In the city that never sleeps, is an Italian Restaurant that I would stay up all night for. The most amazing cuisine, an extensive menu, a wine cellar to rival the Four Seasons and very attentive and friendly wait staff made for a meal I will not soon forget. Located just a short walk from Lincoln Center, I don't know... More

Almost across the street from Carnegie Hall, a nice leisurely 10 or so block walk to Broadway shows, and a one subway stop ride from Lincoln Center, this is a nice restaurant for pre or post theater. The tables are not crammed next to each other. Upon arriving, we were greeted by every employee we happened by! After three nights... More

Great location near the park on 7th avenue. We walked in and past the antipasto dishes. This is a large restaurant but is well organized so does not feel too big. The wait staff were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I was a bit concerned that the food would not live up to the ambiance or the prices. Yes it... More

The pizza with prosciutto and fresh mozzarella is one of the best ones I have ever had outside of Italy. Great service and people watching. My "MUST HAVE" meal each time I hit NYC. Nice patio if the weather is good. Easy seats at the bar for a quick bite. Love it. When I was there this month, I told... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
