We went here because we had read good reviews about the food. However, when we arrived, even with our reservations, there was a long line waiting. We sat at the bar and during that time, saw just how very close and crowded the seating arrangements were. The entire atmosphere was loud and certainly not conducive to a nice relaxing dinner.... We had dinner here on 1/24/2015. Friendly, attentive staff and obviously very popular place. I always order lasagna when eating at an Italian restaurant regardless of where I am. The lasagna here is a very generous portion but nothing special. My husband ordered the veal parmasean. It was served on and filled a platter. He said it was more like... More

We ate here last weekend. The atmosphere is lovely - people make you feel welcome from the time you walk in. The art work is very interesting; tables are a little too close together. The menu looked wonderful and I happily ordered scallops over mushroom risotto. It was wonderful until about half way in when it became salty to the... More

I took my 2 school age kids here for lunch. The service is great. It’s never easy to take kids to nice restaurants. Therefore I always love it when staff makes kids feel welcome. The food is excellent, a notch above the ordinary Italian restaurant; therefore, the price is justified. The one hundred and one layer lasagna is excellent. The... More

For our last night in NYC decided to enjoy a good dinner and we were not disappointed. When we entered the maitre'd shook my hand welcoming us into the restaurant. After that the service was great, the waiter personable. The food was excellent. It's in a great location across from Carnegie Hall. It is open till 11p. Would recommend it... More

After a busy day out in NYC we had completely forgotten that it was a Saturday evening in Manhattan and therefore eateries were stuffed to the brim. After trying to find a table at a couple of local restaurants we wandered wistfully past the wonderful restaurant 'Torino Italian' we had dined at the previous evening and convinced ourselves that with... We have eaten here on our trips to NYC, and are never disappointed. The place is always packed but the food is consistent, the service is good and the prices are NYC. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for Italian food.

First time in this restaurant for us - a group of five, meeting for dinner before attending a concert in Carnegie Hall. Knowing how cold and windy it gets in January we picked this restaurant mostly for its location - just across the street from the concert hall. Reviews were certainly good enough - and when we arrived all of... More

A busy, bustling place with lots of tables, across from Carnegie Hall. Discovered by me about ten or twelve years ago. Good drinks, and the food? I had a beet and arugula salad that was packed with two kinds of beets and very fresh greens, and then I had their pasta carbonara with lobster and asparagus added. Bellissima! My companion... More

For years this was my go to late night after theater restaurant....even rented a room for one of my birthday parties. Had not been there in 2 years or so. Quality of food has deteriorated dramatically. Night I was there they were out of a number of dishes as well as basic bread!! Will not go back
