Came here for my wife's birthday and have to say this was by far the best dining experience we have had in a long time. The food was superb, the recommended wine was divine and the staff were amazingly attentive ! Go, enjoy !!!!!

Was here for a business lunch this week so was a little less focused on the venue than the business at hand. Nonetheless, here are some observations. Decor is classic steak house. Comfortable. Service is very friendly and familiar while also efficient. Since we were here for lunch, we passed on the usual appetizers and desserts. For entree, my associates... More

At Uncle Jacks recently -the one near West 34th and 9th Avenue in NYC. Since I've been here before, everything is measured on past experiences. So while the restaurant was fine in many ways, it wasn't the same...it is slipping. Appetizers, entrees ,sides and dessert were all very good but something was missing. Greeting was fine but not really welcoming;... More

Uncle Jack's calls itself the best steakhouse in NYC. That's probably not true, but we ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection (rare, exactly as we like it), seared and very tasty. Service was also quite attentive, although after we finished our appetizer, the busperson asked if we were getting salads. We said yes and he took... More

We decided to have a late lunch before attending a Friday night show. There were 3 of us and we all decided to have the prix fixe lunch, which is $29.99. The prix fixe is a great value and includes a starter (we chose a crab cake, which was excellent), salad, filet, and 2 vegetable sides. The filets were perfectly... More

We booked a meal at Uncle Jacks based on a recommendation from several people in the UK and we were not disappointed. The staff, service, atmosphere, food and wine were all wonderful. We had the fillet mignon and the New York Strip steak, with the most amazing sides of sweet potato mash and creamed spinach. The wine list was extensive and... More

We were in town for a trade show and walked by this place a few times. We decided to try it and it was just average. I guess in New York I have higher expectations. Place does have classic charm and feels like it should be awesome. Unfortunately it just fell short. The ribeye was what I thought was just... More

Beautiful steaks that are lovingly prepared. Attentive staff and an olde worlde interior. Quality breaths from every pore of this experience. Its moderately expensive to expensive depending on your choices. If you like steak with good wine you will love this place.

We waited 20 minutes for even water to arrive never mind our drinks. It was nearly 1hr 30 mins before food arrived. 3 steaks were great but one was sinewy, the broccoli and asparagus were undercooked. It was completely underwhelming. We were given three tiny sample desserts and an apology as appeasement but hardly enough in the circumstances
