We visited this place as recommended by our hotel concierge - there is a pattern there if you look at other reviews. We had wanted a cheap casual place where we could get a burger or a steak. Uncle Jacks doesn't look much from the outside but inside there is rather posh decor and an upstairs with a balcony -... More

I expected WONDERFUL service since the owner has a TV show about food service but sadly that was not the case. The hostess in particular was a sour puss and the meat was gristly. I did mention it to my waiter who stated that's how that cut of meat is. Maybe the menu should state that...

Recommend by hotel to my wife which normally makes me nervous...the hotel recommendation not my wife. But got to say this was excellent, if pricy. But I'd had my fair share of burgers and pizza so this was appreciated by my stomach. Read the review about service being over attentive and might have a point but it's nice to be... More

Had groupon for steak for 2 @ $99. Included two apps and two sides and one dessert. Could not possibly have been any better. Service was prompt, polite and efficient. Brunello was reasonably priced ($88) as was a 1/2 of SMPG ($30). Steaks prepared exactly as ordered. Mgr wished us Happy Anniversary, offered an additional dessert as well as a... More

Booked this Steakhouse for a Xmas Shopping Trip with my best friend. Food was fab., service was quick but as we had booked they knew we were arriving for 7.45pm. Our waiter a gentleman, was polite, articulate but very abrupt, as most New Yorkers are? He came over as being very much under pressure and hurried us to order, felt... More

I wanted to treat my son to a good NY steak-house dinner for his birthday and Uncle Jack's was recommended by the concierge at our hotel, which was just a couple of blocks away. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get in, not having reservations, but when we arrived at around 6 pm, the place was empty (except... More

On a recent trip to NYC the front desk at the hotel recommended this for a good steak dinner. We arrived an hour before closing on a Thursday. After sitting for a while, Denis our waiter showed up and greeted us with "Good Evening Ladies" - I was with my husband. Apparently he was fixated on the table of two... More

Wanted a nice, but not too fancy restaurant for our last night in NYC. Our concierge recommended this place as it was close to our hotel and it was exactly what we wanted. Good food, good wine list, and we didn't feel we had to be super dressed up. Was a little pricy for what we're used to, but not... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
