Very good steak

This was my first time here and I loved it. We have been to many many steak houses in the City but not this one. We went before a Ranger game and had a great dinner, not rushed but got us out in time to make the game. My filet was cooked perfectly and everyone at the table was satisfied... read more

Lovely resturant but the staff take themselves little too seriously. Despite there being plenty of staff we were left waiting in the foyer for far too long. Then we had to wait again, just standing the foyer, for our table. We had a booking so I don't understand all the waiting. The food was good but not exceptional. Very expensive... More

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. My advise is that you must make a prior reservation because we went last night which was Tuesday and it was packed. The petite filet is the best and for the desert we had the best chocolate mousse and a delicious cheese cake. What has made our experience an amazing one is our... More

We were in NYC for a Billy Joel concert. Decided to have a nice steak dinner. The front desk clerk recommended Uncle Jack's. We were not disappointed. We had early reservations to make sure we could get to the show in time. I was not sure if this was one of those restaurants that take 3-4 hours for the entire... More

This was my 50th birthday thing! We wandered in here for a drink because I've seen it on Food Network. The head barman (is this the right term?) totally knew his stuff, and being English, we love a good barman. We watched two great American chaps come in from the freezing cold and one party said : can you give... More

Came here for my wife's birthday and have to say this was by far the best dining experience we have had in a long time. The food was superb, the recommended wine was divine and the staff were amazingly attentive ! Go, enjoy !!!!!

Took a chance on Uncle Jack's for lunch while in Hell's Kitchen. We'd walked past a couple of times and thought the menu looked good. It was great! The experience was made so much more memorable by our attentive waiter, who was very New York, New York (and the song played while we were dining!) Sushi to start then steak... More

Was here for a business lunch this week so was a little less focused on the venue than the business at hand. Nonetheless, here are some observations. Decor is classic steak house. Comfortable. Service is very friendly and familiar while also efficient. Since we were here for lunch, we passed on the usual appetizers and desserts. For entree, my associates... More

At Uncle Jacks recently -the one near West 34th and 9th Avenue in NYC. Since I've been here before, everything is measured on past experiences. So while the restaurant was fine in many ways, it wasn't the same...it is slipping. Appetizers, entrees ,sides and dessert were all very good but something was missing. Greeting was fine but not really welcoming;... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
