We walked up to The Place in lower Manhattan on a Friday night and should have had a reservation. Notwithstanding that, the maitre d' was very welcoming, and took our name and number while we walked around. He said we could be seated at nine [it was around 8] so we walked back about 8:20 and said if he happened... More

This is the place to go for fabulous food, in the Village! It is quaint, cozy, well priced and has great service. My only draw back here is that all the people in our section were full on sweating for the lack of air conditioning, or any air at all. Sadly, it did detract somewhat from our experience. Would not... More

Quite by chance we walked by The place and thought it looked quite charming. I had duck for dinner and the triple chocolate fill cake, which both were to die for! Best meal ever!

Cosy restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The food was well cooked, beautifully presented and delicious. Puligny Motrachet at $79 was amazing. Service was excellent. Would recommend.

"The Place" is definitely the place. Pros: Unique take on Mediterranean (try the duck) Nice drink menu options Friendly service Cons: Windows were open on the day we went so it was a little hot Smaller restaurant so there isn't a lot of space between tables (but normal for Manhattan)

I ordered the risotto and the cod fish. My Hasband the ravioli shrimps and the pork tenderloin. All was Devine. Tasty and great friendly staff. Quite a romantic feeling to the place. $80 or so. Thanks to trip advisors for the recommendation.

This small, intimate restaurant is a delight. The menu changes often to take advantage of the freshest of ingredients. In the winter, there is a cozy fireplace in the small front bar as well as the main dining room. In the summer, the front is opened up for al fresco dinning. Food wonderfully tasty, nice, reasonable wine list and friendly,... More

We ate here last week for our pre wedding night meal. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect...the food and service were impeccable. We cannot fault this restaurant (we also ate here last year). We will definitely return for a 3rd visit if (hopefully) we visit NYC again!
