Went there Sunday night with a group of 6. One hour of wait time to get a table (quite a small place) which was fine, we just grabbed a beer at a nearby bar while waiting. I absolutely loved the food here and all of us were shocked about how well all dishes resembled meat dishes. I mean, vegetarian BBQ... More

The most schizophrenic meal ever. Server is nice. We order the BBQ wings and the Coconut Almond Chicken as apps. Both are incredible, like amazing. We are still eating those and another server walks up to our tiny table with two big dinner plates. I'm like what do you want us to do? We stack up our starter plates and... More

Being a Vegetarian it's wonderful to go a restaurant and being able to order anything that I want off the menu. My friend who is a carnivore absolutely loved it too. We shared 3 "chicken" dishes and they were all unbelievably amazing!!!!! Totally recommend a meal (or 2 if you have the time) here!!!

Some vegetarian restaurants serve a course of attitude with every meal. Not this one. It's good Asian-influenced food, prepared with non-meat alternatives that don't leave you feeling virtuous but unfulfilled. The menu is extensive, so you can eat there often and not have to repeat a dish for a long time. Bonus: on a dinner visit several years ago, I... More

If you are a vegetarian who may crave the meat dishes you used to eat, then you're in luck. Red Bamboo has some of the best veggie faux meat dishes I've ever had- from their soy buffalo wings to soy pork chops to soy fries chicken, every little taste will satisfy your craving and your stomach.

I came here with a vegetarian friend and didn't expect to like it. Wow did they change my mind! We had the most outstanding buffalo wings and chicken strips. The pork chops are fabulous as well. Everything was amazing. I can't say enough that this is a crazy-good restaurant. Give it a try!

We visited Red Bamboo on a weekday afternoon, ravenous after spending several hours up on the High Line. The restaurant was very clean ( including the toilets ) with a pleasant ambience. Staff were friendly & helpful and service was prompt. Our vegan meals were absolutely delicious but we were defeated by the enormous portions! The menu is imaginative and... More

The Red Bamboo is a place that every vegetarian needs to visit if he or she is in NYC: the staff is helpful and kind, the food is amazing and the prices are fair (comparing to the city in general). I think even non-vegetarian people would like it, since they have a lot of options that REALLY look like meat:... More

We visit the Red Bamboo every time we are in NYC, which serves the best vegan food we have ever experienced. The decor is unpretentious; the menu is creative and the food is superb. What could be better than a great meal in Greenwich Village? Even non-vegans should enjoy the experience (speaking as one myself).

Almost 10 years ago I first went to Red Bamboo upon the recommendation of someone at Moo Shoes, the vegetarian shoe store. I enjoyed their BBQ vegan drumsticks so much that I eventually found a store in Queens to get the vegan drumsticks in bulk and make my own. Red Bamboo has vegan everything - soups, salads, appetizers, mock chicken,... More
