We visited Red Bamboo on a weekday afternoon, ravenous after spending several hours up on the High Line. The restaurant was very clean ( including the toilets ) with a pleasant ambience. Staff were friendly & helpful and service was prompt. Our vegan meals were absolutely delicious but we were defeated by the enormous portions! The menu is imaginative and... More

The Red Bamboo is a place that every vegetarian needs to visit if he or she is in NYC: the staff is helpful and kind, the food is amazing and the prices are fair (comparing to the city in general). I think even non-vegetarian people would like it, since they have a lot of options that REALLY look like meat:... More

We visit the Red Bamboo every time we are in NYC, which serves the best vegan food we have ever experienced. The decor is unpretentious; the menu is creative and the food is superb. What could be better than a great meal in Greenwich Village? Even non-vegans should enjoy the experience (speaking as one myself).

Almost 10 years ago I first went to Red Bamboo upon the recommendation of someone at Moo Shoes, the vegetarian shoe store. I enjoyed their BBQ vegan drumsticks so much that I eventually found a store in Queens to get the vegan drumsticks in bulk and make my own. Red Bamboo has vegan everything - soups, salads, appetizers, mock chicken,... More

My wife is vegan, so occasionally I will go out and eat at vegan/vegetarian restaurants with here since I feel it's good to be open-minded in a relationship. She introduced me to Red Bamboo from a mutual friend and each time we go to New York now, it is our go-to restaurant that has the most authentic mock meat based... More

Even if you are not vegetarian or vegan you must visit this small awesome restaurant. You won't believe you are not eating chicken or meat. The service is great and I cant stop saying how delicious is the food and wait until you try the desserts.

There is a vegan in our extended family and she insisted that we go to this place. Because I am a light meat eater, eating meat or fish at maybe 25% of all meals, a vegan place is fine by me. And New York has plenty of vegan choices among Asian places and Middle Eastern places just for starters. Many,... More

The food taste really good. Nice place to try out, even for none Vegans. I've actually tried this place a few times. They have a competitor restaurant right next door, which I have yet to try.
