I'd like to have written a review for this restaurant as I had (as I thought) booked it for my mum's birthday celebration meal when we travelled to NY from Ireland in October. I got an emailed confirmation of our booking in September, however I was trying to organise a birthday cake and a particular table after that so I... More

We were visiting the building where my neice will be going to live while at Columbia and asked the doorman where to go for a drink and bite to eat. He couldn't suggest anywhere close by but said that the Terrace had a great view. He said he had heard from others that it was expensive and sub-par so we... More

My wife and I recently had dinner at Terrace in the Sky and took along a dear friend. Although the view was limited because of rain and fog, the food and service were wonderful. Unfortunately, when I checked my credit card billing online the day after our visit, I found that $20 additional had been added to my bill. Then... More

It doesn't matter if the view is great and the food rather good if you are mad and annoyed throughout the dinner experience. Throw in filthy bathrooms, and a general sense of physical neglect, and what you get is a place not worth visiting. We were especially irritateded by the waiter's insistence that we had to declare our dessert choice... More

I was at the restaurant with my girlfriend during her visit to New York City. The food, atmosphere, service was superb. We had a whole fish perfectly cooked with Rocket Arugula Salad and for a dessert Crème Brulee and Chocolate Tart. We have to compliment chef and personnel for this wonderful experience.

This is at Butler Hall, at the Columbia University campus. We got there just as the sky was beginning to darken. We had an excellent view of Grant's Tomb, then as we were served our meal, the sky was quite dark and we could see the George Washington Bridge twinkling in the distance and all the lights from the Bronx... My husband and I recently got married in New York City, accompanied by 30 of our closest friends and family - which in itself was no mean feat, considering that we live in Australia and all our guests travelled from either Australia or the UK! We'd originally planned to elope with just our parents and siblings and get married in... More

Great view and wonderful terrace if it is warm enough. Ask for a table under the glass roof as the view is better than from the older part. The furnishing is quite old fashioned. The food is fine though not an elaborated gourmet kitchen. However, the price quality is very good for the great view you get. The service is... More

For a Saturday night, the restaurant was not busy at all. It is an elegant restaurant with very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are multilingual. It was very quiet and romantic, with classic place settings on the tables, candles, and a single rose in a vase, the whole place was gently lit with blown glass chandeliers. The view was nice,...
