Satisfying lunch!

It has been a few years since I last visited La Giara in the Murray Hill area of NYC but I went with a friend for lunch today. My friend was very happy with the chicken parmagiana (spelling?) and I was pleased with an unusual porcini flatbread. The service was prompt, the place was quiet and the... read more

This dining trattoria is a gem in Murray Hill. The pasta is fresh, the sauces are spot on. Lunch special with a. App and entree is a value at $15. The dishes are basic and clean. The service friendly. Its a locals' spot, and very convenient for a relaxing respite from work or for people at the NYU cancer center... More

Was staying in Murray Hill and this restaurant came highly recommended by the concierge at my hotel. Trip Advisor reviews were mixed but decided to try it anyway. I should have paid attention to the negative reviews. The service was fine and the Pear and Gorgonzola salad was nice. The entrees however were a total disappointment. The Lasagna was just... More

We loved this place. The food/service/prices were brilliant. It was definately the best meals we had while in NYC. We sat at the window the 3 times we visited and it was a great spot for people watching!

The sidewalk dining (weather permitting) and small size of the interior seating makes this simply furnished restaurant feel more like an Italian trattoria than a Manhattan restaurant. The street wall opens almost completely to add to the open feel popular in Italy. The food is very good, varied and the fixed price lunch menu is a bargain for a choice... More

It is a kind of place where mostly locals go. Nothing fancy, rather simple and clean. The service is good. Weekend brunch comes with free little muffins. You can also have all you can drink mimosas. The open air spot is lovely.

Our hotel is just a few blocks from here. So we decided to try this restaurant. It took them over 15 minutes to even come wait on us. Which I do not understand because there was only two other couples there that night. I will say the buffalo mozzarella was really good!!! My dish was really good. I ordered the... More

The worst Frutti di Mare and service ever. Monica, our waitress, did her best to avoid us. On the plus side the pear and walnut salad and calamari appetizers were good as was the Branzino Entre. Monica did offer to fix the Frutti de Mare but I was not interested. She did remove it from our bill. After some discussion... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
