Vento is in an interesting building in the meatpacking district just off 14th street and across from the Apple store. We ate there for brunch on a Sunday morning. We started sitting outside, but an approaching cold front was starting to freeze us. We hesitated asking to move inside,since many places get crabby about moving tables once you are seated.... more

Managed to get a table last minute due to a cancellation, and we were not dissapointed. The restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the service was prompt. The food was excellent, and I would not hesitate to go back next time in New York. more

On Sunday nights they have the "Nonna Special" a prix-fixe family style dinner. Lots of food and generous food for just me and my one dining companion. The price is reasonable for the quality of food and atmosphere. The taste was not excellent; pleasant servers. more

I absolutely loved this restaurant. It is the most casual of Steve Hansen's restaurants, but casually chic. It's location definitely has to do with its coolness factor - the clientele is very downtown and the waiters wear whatever they want and are very hospitable and friendly.
