Found this by searching french cuisine on opentable.com. So glad we did. Small, french bistro, on 12th street, which we probably would've never found otherwise. Great service, great atmosphere, and delicious food. Salmon tartare is amazing!!

Leon is a small intimate and quite moderate French Bistro. They had a prix-fixe meal for $25.00 which had appetiser, main course & dessert. I had the Duck (not on the prix-fixe menu) and it was crispy and not dry or chewy. With a soup, duck, dissert and a glass of wine, it was about $45.00. Good food for a... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
