Good BBQ

My family decided to try this restaurant because I had seen it featured on Food Network. We all ordered the pulled pork plate. We all agreed that the pork was very tender and the right amount of sauce. We each choose different sides so that we would get to sample each of them. The glazed peaches... read more

The ribs tasted mushy. I don't know how long ago they had been cooked but I am guessing a long time. The beans were cold and the cole slaw's mayo or whatever was separating into separate phases. It made up for the poor quality by being expensive.

Adam Perry Lang should be embarrassed Well, Adam Perry Lang should be embarrassed if he still has anything to do with Daisy May BBQ in New York. We were really looking forward to this because we are big fans of his books and recently ate at Barbecoa in London. Well, he doesn’t have much of anything to do with that... More

The ONLY thing that was good here was the side of sweet potatoes with brown sugar. Yum! We had a half rack of ribs and the beef brisket. I have had better ribs at Famous Dave's. So if ribs is what you are looking for go somewhere else and then let me know where you went so I can go... More

I don't mind spending money on good food, but it is a little high for BBQ. I do recommend it for great BBQ in the city. I also highly recommend the spearmint sweet tea in a Mason jar. Portions are average and prices are steep but the food is very good.

Return visitor to Daisy Mays because I really need one of their massive BBQ'd beef ribs. The portion was the size of a brontosaurus bone, the meet had a superb glossy bark and was moist, fork tender, perfectly smoked and simply awesome. Had sides of beans and collard greens with their tasty sweet tea. The layout of the place is... More

Great BBQ! Had the chicken and ribs and was very tasty and tender. Had sides of bourbon peaches and mac n cheese. A little expensive but tasty. Red velvet cake had a strange taste though (almost like raw meat)

I found this while looking for a more traditional BBQ/Soul food restaurant away from Times Square. I'm so glad I endured the record low temperature as this place was amazing. You would never think from looking at it from the outside the quality of food they serve. The hardest choice is deciding what to eat, the portions are good and... More

If you like barbeque, you will really enjoy this place. Portions are a bit small, but you realize after eating that is a good thing because food is heavy and what they give is enough (unless you are a fan of giant portions). Counter staff was very friendly and helpful. Seating in the back is shared table style, which could... More

Went to Daisy May's for supper with wife and son. The family style seating was very conducive to tasting and sharing of entrees and sides. We had brisket, ribs and chicken, along with mac 'n' cheese, baked beans, dirty rice and coleslaw. The food taste and quality ranged from very good to tiptop. Watched the folks at the next table... Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
