Unpretentious, but good

We stopped there for lunch on the way to Intrepid, and were rewarded with decent Barbecue for the price. You need to get food first at he counter and then find yourself a table in the dining room. I went here a few years ago with my family as it was recommended in the 'Jamie's America book' we were not disappointed!!! Brilliant and outstanding BBQ. Can't wait to fly over the pond and have another go on the ribs and sides! Bring it on! Visited 2010 July

We walked to Daisy May's from our hotel (near central park) It took about 30mins. Very good BBQ. It's sort of a cafeteria style serving which is nice because anything you didn't eat is pretty much ready to pack up already.

Ribs were greasy and over cooked. Beans were not eatable. Peaches were not eatable. Pulled pork was not good. They might get away with barbeque like this in NYC, but this place would be closed up in two months down south. And there was a roach crawling down the wall beside our table.

Had lunch at Daisy May's this past weekend and it was great as always. Pulled pork for me, Ceasar with Smoked Chicken for her. Sides of creamy corn and Mac & Cheese were delicious. Always a good meal at Daisy May's!

Authentic BBQ. Price was good for the real deal. Thick brisket on the sandwich. Great sauce. Pulled pork is also good.

My family decided to try this restaurant because I had seen it featured on Food Network. We all ordered the pulled pork plate. We all agreed that the pork was very tender and the right amount of sauce. We each choose different sides so that we would get to sample each of them. The glazed peaches were awesome, coleslaw and... The ribs tasted mushy. I don't know how long ago they had been cooked but I am guessing a long time. The beans were cold and the cole slaw's mayo or whatever was separating into separate phases. It made up for the poor quality by being expensive.

Adam Perry Lang should be embarrassed Well, Adam Perry Lang should be embarrassed if he still has anything to do with Daisy May BBQ in New York. We were really looking forward to this because we are big fans of his books and recently ate at Barbecoa in London. Well, he doesn’t have much of anything to do with that... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
