Lively atmosphere with great Italian food

A friend bunch of staffers here welcomed my large group with spirit. Excellent down to earth connection with the waiting staff. The ravioli, eggplant Parmesan, and chicken parmesan were the best I've had. I highly recommend those meals. The atmosphere is quaint and old world. It's not been overtaken by modernization. There were fresh flowers on the table. It was by far the best meal we had in NYC.

I read the reviews and decided to use a voucher from Travelzoo. Although the restaurants out the lobster as it contained another section and a small tail. was clean and convenient, we left after our meal unimpressed. My husband was encouraged to order a special, kore expensive than most of the other meals. The waiter raved about the seafood combo.... More

Stopped here last night on the way to the theater. Lovely small restaurant with good service and excellent food. I had the snapper which was a daily special and it was perfect. Cooked just right. The asparagus was done right too, not over-cooked like so many places. Had the house Chardonnay, it was good and obviously not just a cheap... More

This was soooo good! We asked the hotel for recommendations and this was one of them. The restaurant was really small, but they were so accommodating with our table location and even turned down the heat when we said it was too hot. The food was excellent - we all had different dishes and a bunch of appetizers and everything... More

Our friend recommended this restaurant for our recent trip to NYC and boy was she right. We had the chicken parmesan over angel hair pasta and it was hands down the best chicken parm we've ever tasted. The portion was huge so we're glad we split the entree. We each ordered a caesar salad and that was also delicious. This... More

Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. Pretty stanfard. Ordered 2 sodas at the beginning of our meal. 1st round brought not by our initial waiter but by another girl. They couldn't seem to coordinate with one another. Since we were obviously walking, we were parched. Didn't get offered another round until we were nearly finished with our meal.... More

Cara Mia is a pleasant little Italian bistro in the Theatre district with wonderful food (the Branzino Sea Bass was very good indeed), and fast, friendly service. The Chardonnay was excellent and went well with the fish. We had an early curtain and the food was delivered efficiently and with an Italian charm that made us smile. It's the perfect... More

Visited this small restaurant while bisiting NYC for the weekend. Serbice and atmosphere was classy but far from stuckup. Food was delicious as well as sangria. Was sitting close to doors that were opened to outside, was nice breeze and beautiful sunshine coming in. Great experience and filled our belly nicely;)

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
