Cara Mia is located a short walk from the theater district, so it is a great location for an early dinner before a show. The menu has many options and they offer nightly specials. We enjoyed two different pasta dishes prepared to perfection with bread and a delicious salad. The wait staff was aware of our pending theater reservations and... More

During my stay in NYC we came across this nice restaurant and found it good enough to return to a second time. Fast service and no fuss food. I'd gladly go back again as all meals had by my family of 4 on both occasions were very good. Well worth the try if you're in NYC.

Service was very good, atmosphere pleasant, and the bread was fresh and delicious. However, the entrees were very bland, as if we had all ordered from a sodium-restricted menu (which we did not). The look of the food was appealing but everything was just so-so. We loved trying something new but will not return.

During a visit to NY and meeting a friend, my husband and I were looking something a bit different than a chain following a matinee on Broadway. When my friend suggested we try out 9th Ave I was a bit surprised. It certainly has changed over the years. After looking a several options we decided on Cara Mia's. We had... More

It had been a while but I joined a friend for a pre-theatre dinner --- Cara Mia is such a good choice for such occasions. Why? Food is always good, service is fast, even when crowded it's not too noisy, it's reasonably priced and it's a 5-10 minute walk to most Broadway area theatres (from its location on 9th Avenue... More

Great food, great ambiance, great service, nice people - what more could you ask for? Came here for pre-theater lunch on a Sunday afternoon - sat outside in the back and had a lovely meal and overall experience. Great menu too...

On a recent Sunday in NYC, we visited Cara Mia. We usually research restaurants in the area we are visiting, but this time we were there for a show and the International Food Festival on 9th Ave. we decided last minute on a sit down lunch and checked out a couple of restaurants nearby before deciding on Cara Mia. When... More

Our family had dinner at this restaurant before a Broadway show, and the staff made sure that we were finished on time to get there. It definitely was the best meal of our entire trip. From beginning to end the service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. All of our entrees were excellent, and the bread... More

My wife and I sampled this neighborhood Italian restaurant prior to the theatre on a weekday night. We arrived in plenty of time to enjoy our meal. There were perhaps 5-6 other tables occupied. We found the atmosphere, service and food to be quite average - nothing special. With so many choices in this neighborhood, there are likely others worth... More

I have eaten there many times, but sadly this will be the last. The service was pathetic. Our waiter behaved like a moron, when we asked for water and bread, he reacted like a prison guard rationing out our portions. He was not engaged and just a huge problem
