Such a great little place.

My husband I just recently had a nice visit in NYC and really enjoyed a pre theater meal at Cara Mia. We ordered from the Prix Fix menu, and each item was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and served piping hot. Service was fast and friendly, so we made our play in plenty of time. The only... read more

This place was fantastic! I will definitely go back there the next time I'm in the city. The food was fresh, wine list was great, and the service rocked!

On Ninth Avenue and 46th Street in New York's Theatre District, there is a small, inviting, homey Italian restaurant called CaraMia....aptly named. Every element: atmosphere, service, quality, delicious food---all A+!!!! From the delicious focaccia bread and fruity olive oil (for dipping!) to the perfect calamari fritti to fusilli and sausage and fresh spring vegetables to pork scalloping and spinach---and a... I went to restaurant with family and a friend. It was a very cold day but the temperature in restaurant had been raised too much and it was uncomfortable. One of the negative things about the restaurant is that the tables are extremely extremely close and as a result, it is noises! The food was very good and we mostly... More

We had a great Valentine's dinner. Food was good yet a little pricey for what you get. If you don't mind sitting inches away from the next table you will enjoy.

Visited for lunch based on the fixed price menu and had a lovely experience. This is a cozy "shoe box" eatery tucked in a row of small restaurants so don't miss it! Two of us ordered off the fixed price menu, two ordered fresh pasta entrees plus a bottle of prosecco for all. While everything was tasty and the service... More

we've been before... went on a night following big snow... few people but a table for about 12 which was kind of raucous. Nothing to do with the restaurant. Trree ordered prix fix... one had a la carte. Caesar salads for all. Just o.k. Not enough dressing so not too tasty. Veal Saltimboca was large portion and good. Pasta with... More

This is a very nice, quaint Italian resturant, with attentive service & very good food. It is in the theater district however, so at certain times it can literally be a mad house. If you get it at a time when it is quiet...enjoy the quiet, quaint atmosphere. Off the beaten path over on 9th, but well worth it.

Visited on our trip to New York. We had great time food was good, but sloppy service. Staff were pleasant but kept missing our orders. Order of lemon lime bitters drink was taken but not delivered. When after a while we asked about that order we were told that the restaurant does not serve this type of drink. Interesting response... More

My wife and I dropped into Cara Mia just before opening for lunch and decided to stay till they opened, enjoying a glass of very good prosecco whilst waiting. We did not regret the decision to stay. The chef served an excellent mushroom soup (much need in the cold New York December) and equally good main courses. (The kichen was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
