I just like this place

The burgers aren't the best but other items like the fries, fish tacos etc. are fine. I mostly just like the view and the feel of the place and I'll bet you will too. A little hard to find but just walk down W. 79th street towards the river (on the right side) and you'll make it. You'll be... read more

We chose the boat basin cafe for our last night in NYC because of the outside seating and views over the Hudson River. We had nachos, a burger and fish tacos and all were very disappointing. We did not get a table outside and it was very noisy under the bridge. The service was terrible.

As long as I have been living in NYC, I had never been aware of this place until yesterday. Always enjoying dining on the water when traveling, I always wondered why there were no places I was aware of here in Manhattan. Well, yesterday I found out it IS here. After a short walk from Riverside Drive, you go down... More

We were here for a pre-wedding drinks reception, which meant our party was away from the main bar and the waterfront. It was still a cool venue though as you are below road level and so somehow, despite being in NYC, it's feels secluded and quiet. Drinks weren't too costly, and service was friendly. I imagine the experience is really... More

This place was really nice! Located along the river it has a beautiful view and it's perfect to go there on sunny days. We had the hamburger of the day and it was delicious. They have also a good choice of beers. I've seen that also the inside of the restaurant it's nice and that day there was a little... More

Nice place and with a nice view of NJ, Hoboken. Good food and drinks. A nice place to meet friends, but better in warmer days.

Seriously, if you have never experienced the Boat Basin Cafe on a beautiful day in NYC, you really must. We went in the summer, so it was open, but I'm not sure when their open / closing days for the season are. Food is ok - nothing super special - but you aren't really here for that. Grab a bite,... What could be better than a beautiful, sunny table overlooking the Hudson River on Sunday afternoon after a half marathon at Central Park. Casual atmosphere and casual menu. They offer a variety of Burgers(beef, Salmon, Kale/brown rice, and Veggie with cheese) and salads. Appropriate food for the casual setting. The server was friendly and attentive. Great value for a NYC... More

My friends and I took a ride down the west side and stopped for lunch. What a GREAT view. The food is ok but the view and ambiance is what sells this place. Particularly for a bike ride.

The location on the riverbank offers a lovely view of the water and Jersey shore. Service was prompt and friendly but several menu items were not available - probably because we're getting late in the season. Food was OK - a variety of burgers, nachos,...casual and tasty but not particularly special. Come for the view (or the happy hour, which... More
