Went to Artisanal for Bastille Day, not that they did anything special to celebrate it but the food is mostly French. The manchego fondue was delicious, though the pot almost set the place on fire at the end. I had the Tuesday special, boudin blanc over mashed potatoes, which was very good and my wife had the char which she... more

What a lot of enjoyable fun. Our reservations made a week in advance were honoured to the minute in spite of the place being packed. I was with two French friends and we conducted our conversation mostly in French and despite my imperfect grasp of the language and the noisy environment I was able to follow the conversation and contribute... more

Nice place. The emphasis is on cheese (the cheese menu has six pages , double-columned, tightly-spaced, small-printed...) Other menus cover the basic french bistro cuisine and a good selection of wines. Tried the cold meats & cheese plate; very good: balanced choice of cheeses, good meats, superb fruits. And the bread is very good also. The only downside is the... more

The food I had was divine. Makes me wish I lived in NYC so I could dine there all the time. Had french onion soup, then a mixed salad and then mac and cheese. Sat in the bar and was virtually ignored for the first 15 minutes that I sat there. Finally placed a drink order and then he forgot... more

I don't think that I have ever had a better brunch- cheese fondue followed by almond croissant french toast. The coffee was so strong and great. We really felt like we were in Paris with that atmo. more

Having visited on a previous trip to NY I decided to take some of my closest friends to experience what I once considered cheese heaven. Disappointment does not come close to describing the experience we had. We arrived post theater on a Friday night at 10:45pm. When we were sat by the hostess our server Harris S. took about 15... more

We visited on Christmas Eve after a day that included a lot of stress in the form of a towed car. So we were ready for a nice experience, and, as has always been the case for us at Artisanal, the food did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the service disappointed on several levels to the point that we laughed about not... more
