I've visited this restaurant on and off over the last 10 years. I was there on Saturday for a late bite to eat. It has changed for the worse. The food was mediocre (the gnocchi was pasty & tasteless), but the biggest surprise was the prices... $18 for a glass of HOUSE wine; $15 for desserts. Totally outrageous. Definitely NOT... More

Its known for its selection of fine cheese. Has a cheese room. I had there one of my best Fondu ever. Than I took the advice of the very pleasant waiter and ordered a steak, wich was exeptional. Very recomended.

If your arteries are not clogged, this is the place to go. They have a Cheese vault that is next to none. My personal favorite is to experience the cheese fondue. Tough to find a better place in NY for this.

My wife and I used to absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Now it is on permanent waivers in our lingo meaning never again. The prices are astronomical for both food and wine($48 lamb burger, $32 for small piece of snapper-No glass of wine under $15 nor any bottle under about $60). Cheese used to be abbondanza and wonderful experience. Now the... More

A real French Bistro in NYC. Beautiful location but horrible service. We were seated at a table but we noticed a smell of catpee (excuse me for this but it was really this). We got another table where it was better. We ordered a simple fish soup for lunch. We had to wait 40 minutes for this simple thing. I... More

We were there for a late dinner. Started with cheese (duh!) and wine. The wine was fine, but somewhat overpriced by the glass. One cheese was not available and they substituted something my spouse did not prefer. But the service was good and that cheese was replaced with a thoughtful choice. Well done. I had lobster risotto, which was very... More

We were staying close to this restaurant so decided to try it on our first night. The food was really good but the desserts were out of this world. It is really expensive so save it for a special occasion. If you like cheese you will love this place.

Umm...it's a restaurant that specializes in cheese, so even if they sell fish or steak (they do), why would you order it? Do yourself a favor - order what they specialize in, and you will not be disappointed. We had a basic salad (which we split - and they actually brought it in two bowls) which was simple, light, and... More

New ownership. Menu changes. Prices increased. Receptionist on phone rude (and put us on hold 6 times!). No more use of the "cave" (our favorite table/room for decades) unless we pay an EXTRA $200! Chat with new manager insulting. Very, very sad!
