Description: Le Colonial is a truly delightful culinary experience. Like stepping into French Colonial Southeast Asia, this two-story restaurant, designed by Greg Jordan, consists of a main dining room with louvered wall panels, colorful tile floors, and vintage photos of Vietnam. Upstairs is an elegant, but lively, lounge serving a full dinner or just appetizers and cocktails. The lounge serves as an ideal setting for private parties and business dinners. Chef Ron Hsu serves an authentic Vietnamese menu with an emphasis on fresh seafood, meats, and vegetables.

i recommend this restaurant. The food was good enough, the decor was pleasant, the staff was attentive, is wasn't too noisy and the price was reasonable. Not much else you can ask for in a restaurant.

We came here on an Open Table booking. I decided to try Vietnamese food for the first time and am so glad I chose this restaurant to do so. It's such a beautiful place with a quietly elegant atmosphere as previous reviewers have described, potted palms, revolving fans, everything which makes you feel you're in a 1930's plantation in French... I really like the red snapper in the chili sauce. They have a lot of memorable dishes but the atmosphere here is like you are on a plantation back in the 30's in Asia. They have great Vietnamese Beer and their coffee is very different but good. YOu would be well advised to try this place. A little more expensive... More

I dined with some friends who had never been to Le Colonial and they were very pleased. The decor is a throwback to colonial French Vietnam. We ate in the dining room downstairs but you can eat in a mor casual atmosphere in the lounge upstairs. The cocktails are unique and delicious but won't knock you off your feet. The... More

I like vietnamese food (I guess French/Southeast Asian Fusion) and they do a good job preparing it and presenting it. Good place to go for a business dinner when you are tired of steak or italian. It fills up, so reservations are a good idea. If you were having an affair, or were a secret agent, the upstairs would be... More

Le Colonial was recommended by a friend, and it was a great recommendation. The food was excellent, the decor was very pleasant, the staff was friendly and attentive, is wasn't too noisy and the price was reasonable. Not much else you can ask for in a restaurant... I've added it to my NYC routine; will return in Dec.

This was our first time to have dinner at this restaurant. The interior is very pleasant, supposedly evoking French Vietnam (I've never been there). It was relatively quiet even when all tables were occupied. Service was polite and attentive. The main dishes and appetizers, representing a French-Vietnamese fusion, were uniformly excellent, as were the desserts. I had the five-spice duck... More

My cousin and I had a great meal at Le Colonial. She goes to the restaurant fairly often and told me how wonderful it was, so I was eager to try it. The waitstaff were incredibly nice and the service was great. The food was very good, too. I had the Bo Lui which was cooked perfectly and so delicious.... More

The atmosphere is like being in French Vietnam. Potted palms, tiled floors ceiling fans, made for a comfortable evening. And the food id good too.

The decor, service, menu and atmosphere was exactly as the name implies. We had a great meal with a very nice bottle of wine. We will definitely return when back in New York.
