Dined at Josie's with a few friends and we tried a variety of items from the menu. All were excellent and the service was solid as well. Recommended if you are looking for a good place on the UWS for brunch.

Met a group of old college friends here for dinner. The availability of vegan dishes was good to accommodate some of our party. The fair was supposed to be fresh and healthy and locally sourced as much as possible. The server was funny and informed but not at all attentive. The wine list was well below par for NYC and... Had good roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, followed by apple pie. Pasta was also quite decent. Service was very nice and friendly. I have heard this restaurant described as a "favorite" by NY residents....no wonder!

The food here is honest: fresh ingredients, organic (most) and prepared with care. But don't expect your meal to be unforgettable. Service is a bit slow.

Our friends in the neighborhood recommended this restaurant as a healthier option than usual. There were four of us for dinner and we all ordered different meals. We were all pleased, the portions were substantial and everything was really fresh. The place itself is ordinary, not at all elegant dining. The waiter was enthusiastic and appropriately interested in us having... More

For years I have been meaning to eat here, because it had been recommended to me by various friends who know what I like--healthy, flavorful food. Drinks were just OK (I had raspberry lemonada mojito, and my companion blood orange margarita I think. We shared bean dumplings, which were pretty good, but too skimpy on the mango sauce, and a... Just around the block from the Hotel Beacon, Josie's is never our first choice for a meal. It's rather unassuming, so only after we've visited our other favorites, we consider Josie's. Which is a shame because I've never had a bad meal there. Just last week I had a nightly special salmon salad with an enormous variety of fruit in... More

I love this place! It had been a couple of years since my last visit and upon having work to do in the area, I fit in a trip for lunch. Service was great. All of our special quirky dietary needs were taken care of. Food was yummy! Their bread is still one of the best things ever along with... More

A little pricey, but worth it and the portions are large. Wonderful options for vegetarians or anyone who just wants to eat a little lighter in a city full of rich foods. And - without sacrificing any flavor! I had the veggie "meat" loaf, it was savory and wonderful.
