This food was JAW-DROPPING EXCELLENT!!!. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with orange, mahogany and oriental cutout corners. The subdued lighting adds to the ambience and cool atmosphere! (My son found out that Quentin Tarantino owns or invested in the business...making it kinda super-cool!) We started with pan-fried beef dumplings with a thin crispy crust, softer on the inside, filled with... More

Delicious, though slightly trendy, Korean food. Reasonably priced and a great prix fixe for 4 people. I'd easily go back!

Was visiting NYC with my family and wanted to try something new. We found this little Korean restaurant in a neighborhood in Greenwich Village. Just a block from the subway so was easy to find. The waiter was patient and nice and explained how to cook Korean barbeque. We hadn't done it before and had lots of questions about the... More

Do Hwa is a solid neighborhood restaurant that is also great for groups. A lot of the menu works for sharing, and the staff certainly know how to cater to a celebration. I've been here dining alone at the bar (always great movies playing) or with a dozen people for a party. In all cases, it's great food and service,... More

Do Hwa was delicious. The food is authentic and flavorful. The restaurant has an energetic pace. Food was served rather quickly. Service was ok. The waitress was just there to take our order and maybe check up on us a bit.. Seemed annoyed if too many questions or requests were asked. Other than that I highly recommend -

Just dropped by for a drink on a warm day. Started conversation with friendly owner at the bar and happened to stay for a couple of hours. Tasted spicy beef flank soup with cabbage, spinach, glass noodle w vegetables, soy beans on the side, the ginger tea with bourbon whiskey and cucumber sake cocktail. Great hospitality

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
