Sit at the bar and enjoy your food!

There was a huge party the night we randomly walked into this restaurant to grab some food. Best choice for quite some while. We went here for dinner following the good reviews. The result is one of our best food experiences after one year in NY. We have been to a lot of places, but most of them were only expensive but rather unspectacular, i.e. overhyped, not well seasoned etc. (especially comparing them with our experiences from... More

This meal was another 15 on a scale of 1-10. I LOVE this place. The food, the service, the bar staff - THANK YOU KEVIN - it was all great. Everytime I come to NYC I make a point of going here. The duk boki is out of this world delicious. The scallion kimchi pancakes amazing. Do yourself a favor... More

I keep returning to this restaurant, a big, open place, where you can always get seated. The scallion pancakes are great, and the bipimbop is excellent. This is an easy restaurant in every way -- good for couples or families or a warm bowl of bipimbop by yourself.

Pleasantly surprised with my experience at Do Hwa for a recent group dinner. We ordered family style so got to try a number of different dishes and most everything was delicious including cod appetizer, delicious sweet potato noodles, scallion pancakes, and then the main courses of bbq short rib and chicken. We did not have a chance to try the... More

Delicious Korean food in cozy atmosphere. The bibim bop dishes are excellent, along with the other fare -- really well done. Service is friendly, environment is cozy.

Came here for my birthday with a large group. They were able to accommodate us last minute even though we arrived late. The service was good. It wasn't the best Korean food I've ever had, almost downright mediocre. We had the beef boneless short ribs, the potato pancake appetizer, jalapeno chicken, and some kind of soup. I really cant recommend... More

Korean BBQ? Yes, please. I really do love Korean food, and, while K-Town does have a number of options, I really like Do Hwa in the West Village. This authentic Korean restaurant offers two types of tables, regular, of course, and grilling tables where you can cook your own food. I'm always up for a cooking experience, but, I figured I'd... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
