24/7 comfort food

What you see is what you get - no reservations, straightforward interior, comfort-food, open 24 hours. Good food, not amazing. Servings good-sized and not too huge and full of sugar (for a European taste).

This was my second time visiting time and the food is AMAZING! They open 24 hours and we went in late night for some comfort food and left completely satisfied. I ordered the meatloaf and my partner ordered a mac & cheese; both dishes turned out to be the best we've ever had - they were simple but flavourful. Definitely... More

Awful host. This is not the first time that management time or hosts failed. After 50 min of wait they sit us downstairs party of 4 when no one else was there ! It's just rude and disrespectful, not even to let the party know they will be seated in the basement. Also I wouldn't mind if they were able... More

I had a wonderful time at Cafeteria in 2008, and have wanted to go back. I was finally able to go with my friends when we were recently in New York. We waited for almost an hour for a table (it was very busy) and were finally seated. The waiter was not very friendly, and bordered on rude to begin,... More

We ate here for brunch on a Sunday and it was packed! The seating was great, the food was perfect (super amazing comfort food) and the bloody mary was spot on. The service was good all around with everyone making an effort to acknowledge the patrons.

The host was HORRIBLE! The most rude, uninterested host I ever encountered. My party of four were refused a table because we wanted dessert and cocktails. There were plenty of vacant tables. We decided to leave and he refused to listen to what we had to say and didn't care that he lost our business. I will not return while... More

I've always enjoyed eating at Cafeteria. The food had been consistently good and I've never had to complain up to now. It's such a shame that one server's attitude can make such a profound impact on a dining experience that you feel like cancelling your order and walking out. His rude, abrupt and aloof attitude took my breath away, I... More

Normally I wouldn't mind waiting over an hour for our food (especially in NYC), but it was pretty disappointing after we finally received it. I got the green tomato BLT, which was soggy and two different temperatures. My friend got the calamari salad and was less than impressed. I had a great glass of Rosé and a decent side of... More
