My husband I sat down at the outside patio that had an open entrance. The waiter came after several minutes and asked if we were planning to eat there. He was huffy and said we ought to have gone in through a glass entrance, that looked like a window rather than sit ourselves we ought to have let them know... More

So, I’ve lived in NYC for 8 years now, and one of the most magical things about living in NYC, is the 24-hour dining experience. Yeah, that’s where my standards are at. When I moved here, I was quickly introduced to Cafeteria in Chelsea. I’ve been going for years and always have a great experience. For the past 15 years, they’ve... More

My bf and I decided to visit cafeteria at 1am one morning and even though the place got great reviews were cautiously optimistic since we had been to several restaurants with great reviews that turned out to be a disappointment. Two thumbs up to whomever owns this place and manages the kitchen staff and the servers out front. WOW! Amazing... More

My girlfriend took me here with another friend and we ordered everything. The food was amazing!! anything mac and cheese was to die for especially the spring rolls, very dangerous. Nice comfort food and atmosphere is great. Same owners as Delicatessen FYI.

Stopped by for a late lunch. Service was pretty slow but the staff was very friendly. Food was pretty good and the location is nice. The fried oreos are amazing!

I went here for the first time with a couple of friends. We were seated right away even though the place looked packed. We sat inside at a booth and I was surprised at the acoustics of the place - really loud. However, the food was amazing. And, the portions were really filling. Especially the giant size calamari "appetizer". Absolutely... More

My wife and I had a late meal in this restaurant which was very busy indeed late at night. We had simple food like burgers but all was cooked very well and enjoyable. The waiter was an ex broadway dancer who was super friendly and efficient. The menu has all the stuff you would like when you have had a... More

In all my 15 years in NYC I've never experienced what my fiancé and I did just now at Cafeteria. My fiancé ordered the truffle oil eggs and asked for whole wheat toast instead of white which the waiter said wouldn't be a problem. Then a few min later , the waiter (who was very nice) came to us and... More

The Cafeteria is on the corner of 17th Street and 7th Avenue. The people watching during the afternoon happy hour is superb as the lower Chelsea/upper Village crowd hurries home. And the food is remarkable. You may need to wait to snare a table but you will not be disappointed. Great food, great service, and a great people parade assure... More
