Cozy and Delicious

We love to explore new restaurants whenever we visit NYC. My husband had researched farm-to-table restaurants in the Village and stumbled upon Home. All of our food was exceptional, but I really enjoyed our chocolate dessert.

Despite some negative reviews, I decided to meet a friend here for dinner. It was very disappointing. The portions are tiny and overpriced: $15 for a handful of baby scallops, $21 for smoked beets, turnips, and radishes in an eggplant/pistachio sauce, $9 for a piece of pie. The ambience is nice. But my advice: stay home (or go elsewhere). The... More

I had last visited Home 3 years ago; snowy night but jumped in a taxi and made the trip in the hope it would be just as good as then... And it was! The blue cheese fondue was amazing; steak was cooked to perfection. Tried a Manhattan cocktail - very very strong but delicious. Unfortunately we couldn't fit in dessert... More

My husband and I stopped by for lunch last month, having remembered how much we loved the mac & cheese we'd tried on a previous visit. It did not disappoint! We especially loved the maple butter--what a treat! The hostess/owner (?) was so happy to know that we remembered her restaurant and made a special point to stop by again.

I have been going to Home every since my first trip to NYC way back in 2000. It is small and cozy restaurant serving local food. In the summer they have a great back patio. We went on a winter night in December. It was a Wednesday and we made reservations just in case - it did fill up later... More

was an ok meal but nothing special. the trip advisor reviews sounded good, but that wasn't our experience. the mac and cheese had an odd flavor, because of the type of cheese used. probably won't go back

I visited home for Saturday brunch with my wife. They had two deals on - two courses for around $18, and unlimited drinks (limited choice) for $10. The service was fine, pretty efficient and reasonably friendly. The food was a mixed bag. I enjoyed my cob salad and my brisket & grits, my wife's starter of fresh fruit was well... More

i lived in the West Village for twelve years and went to Home a few times. I no longer live in New York but went there for a friend's birthday a couple .weeks ago. First of all, the place is rather tiny and you can absolutely hear every word out of your neighbor's mouth. The dining space is VERY small... More

A fabulous dinner - fresh, interesting, local - wines from New York - friendly and knowledgeable people - great ambiance - the apps were delicious as were the mains. Definitely a great place - visiting from Toronto- will definitely return!

Came here having stopped off on a Foods of New York Tour a couple of years earlier. Having waited 2 years it did not disappoint with great tasting, home style cooking. We even enjoyed some New York Reisling. Take it from a food loving couple Home is well worth a visit.

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
