Three friends enjoyed a great meal on a rainy night

I've been to this place many many times, though not often enough recently. When we were thinking of places close to our movie theater, it came to mind and I am so glad it did. One of the best meals I've ever had! As a first course we shared a ham and cheese macaroni: superb! Macaroni is not my kind of "first course", but it was very light. Main: I had scallops with pumpkin rice: PERFECT!!!! We sat outside, while it was november. Because of the heaters it wasn't cold at all! Congratulations to the... More

Small and friendly farm to table restaurant with the best ketchup you will ever taste. Had the farmers egg - beautifully soft boiled with a great wild rice risotto and crispy mushrooms. Hubby had steak and fries with the above ketchup which we both loved. Steak perfectly cooked, will be returning....

This place pioneered farm to table back in 1993. All the ingredients come from New York with a large portion coming right off the same block. It is quaint and cozy. The heirloom tomato salad was full of flavor with zesty cheese and olive oil. Worth a visit for sure.

This was one of the stops on our Food Tour and we had the most delicious heirloom tomato salad with a lemon vinaigrette. Flavor profile was perfection. Another couple as well as ourselves chose this as our favorite spot on the entire tour and all said we would like to eat a full meal here and are keeping the address.

This is a wonderful surprise! Everything was absolutely wonderful. The mac-n-cheese is to die for! The pork belly was the best I have ever had. Don't leave without getting some delicious chocolate and butterscotch pudding. We will definitely be back!

This was the best meal we had during our trip to New York. All three courses that we had were really delicious and beautifully presented. We started with scallops and had the salmon for our main course. All the flavours were so delicate and interesting. The homemade gooseberry and rhubarb pie with fried ice cream finished off the meal perfectly. The service... More

You want home made comfort food with a modern twist? And not have it overdone? THis is the place. Wonderful young chef. Try the mac and cheese. Creamy, warm, you'll want to lick out the bowl.

Despite some negative reviews, I decided to meet a friend here for dinner. It was very disappointing. The portions are tiny and overpriced: $15 for a handful of baby scallops, $21 for smoked beets, turnips, and radishes in an eggplant/pistachio sauce, $9 for a piece of pie. The ambience is nice. But my advice: stay home (or go elsewhere). The... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
