Was expecting great things about this restaurant after hearing about it from friends and it did not disappoint. Service was fantastic (thank you Sarko) and we were given all the info we needed on the cuts of meat. Needless to say portions are huge and sides can definitely be shared. The meat was tasty and so beautifully cooked. The atmosphere... More

I had a confirmed reservation and arrived a few minutes early. Initially they denied my reservation but as I stood my ground I was eventually found a table. Maybe they expect you to use their bar as you wait to add to their profits. The bar is a prop up for loud drunks. There is a good menu but clients... More

Referred to the Chelsea Market which has lots of casual places to eat, with minimal seating, we walked through, enjoyed the shops but after a long day & no food really wanted to be waited on! Walking out, my friend spotted this place & remembered a local friend loving it. Across the street we went for great service, old style... More

I had the Bone in Rib Eye with a side of Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. My wife had the Filet Mignon which she loved. This is I believe the Oldest Steakhouse in NYC. The Dinner was excellent.

Although it's a bit on the expensive side $54.00 for a steak but then again what a steak a Texas Rib Steak and it would be the biggest rib steak I have had outside of Texas They ask how you want it not how we cook it, I like my steak medium well done and it was done to perfection... More

After seeing a TV show about the Kobe burger, our family of three made this restaurant a stop during our visit to NYC. We don't eat out very often, maybe twice a year (except on vacation, of course) - because we're usually disappointed when we do. Quite the contrary with the Old Homestead. The Kobe burger that my husband had... More

My husband and I saw a program on TV about how the Kobe burger was made and the quality of the meat and decided while visiting NYC we would have to try it. We are a family of 4 from Australia ( our girls are 8 and 6). We had made reservations for lunch on a Thursday and were greeted... More

Had the Florida Rock Shrimp Tempura for starter and Gotham Rib on the bone (24oz) with Coldwater Lobster Tail for mains. Thoroughly enjoyed all of it - the shrimp and lobster were delicately cooked just right and my medium rare steak came out exactly medium rare. Only negative is that the prices are a little on the high side, but... More

We had a reservation for 4 this past February. I thought it was one of the best steakhouses for the quality of steak. I strongly suggest the 40 day dry aged steak for 2! May have been the best steaks I have ever eaten...expensive but worth it. Around $100 for 2 people. The steak was plenty for two good sized... More
