We loved the Prime Porterhouse Steak for two! Absolutely one of the the best Steak in NYC. Amazing and historical restaurant, you can feel you are in a piece of story of NYC. Very good hospitality, very good food!

The Old Homestead has the lush, traditional ambience that one would expect. The food was all well-prepared. T-bone may have been the best meat. We were six people and the service was very good and the food came as ordered (nobody sent anything back). PS - I am a hard grader.

The food is what you would expect from a steakhouse. Good but not great. Pricey, so I did not like waiting 35 minutes in the super packed front bar area (even though we had reservations). The host was extremely nice, always apologizing- and he stands out because he was sincere. Waiters have attitudes, like they're doing you a favor. I... More

We came to this restaurant looking forward to good quality beef. Unfortunately, the food quality was consistently bad for all of us. The service was ok but could not make up for the bad food. Stay away.

Was taken here for an anniversary. Have to say it was a treat to eat at one of NYC's "institutions". The decor is very dark and masculine and the space was a little tight. However the vibe was nice. I can't rave enough about their fried calamari in a thai-chili sauce. The best! Can't recall what cut of steak I... More

I really like the steaks here and definitely some of the best I ever eaten. The only thing I don't like is the small bar that seat around 3 people. Also would be nice to have a TV.

We had read reviews of this restaurant and we're looking forward to a good steak. The waitress was good but the food was way over rated. The steak while large and cooked properly it had some kind of butter sauce on it. I am the daughter of a beef producer and I grew up eating a good steak more than... More

We enjoyed some really tasty succulent steaks in this restaurant in the meat packing district. The service was great and my sons had rare 18oz sirloin steaks, they looked like they were in heaven! The frys were really yummy. My husband had a 10oz fillet mignon and I couldn't manage such a big steak I had small portions of fillet... More

My friend and I were linking up with friends for New Year's and we knew we would have a long wait until our Times Square jaunt. We decided to splurge and I'm so happy we did it here. We both ordered the Kobye beef burgers (don't judge) and I asked for mine rare and they did an awesome job. It... More

IN a nut shell, great food (but good service from waiters) and very, very noisy upstairs. In a party of six, we reserved and find a good table. The waiters were attentive and helpful. Yes, admit, a bit slow but not so bad. A good attendance, seemingly made by locals. And normally it is a good sign. The only issue,... More
