We were staying in the area and wanted to try the Old Homestead Steakhouse as it has been around over 100 years. The restaurant is on three floors with a narrow stairway - to be expected in an older place. We ate in the dining room on the third floor and it was wonderful to sit and be able to... read more

Pleased to get a booking here over Valentines weekend, restaurant was well staffed with informative polite waiters. We had a combined starter of wasabi prawns and spicy calamari, followed by steaks which were cooked to perfection. There was so much food along with two sides we struggled to finish meal much to our disappointment. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would... More

This was the worst experience I have ever had. I wanted to treat my Husband for Valentines Day to a nice romantic Dinner. He loves Steak and his favorite Steak house is Ruth Chris, but I wanted to change it up. Co workers gave this place rev reviews. Well I must say my experience was herrible and night was ruined.... An all time classic NYC mainstay...one of the finest steakhouses in NYC... I am a steak-eater and have been to all of the finest NYC steakhouses...and the Old Homestead still rates as one of the best in my opinion. Excellent, top quality food, prepared very well, excellent service. From the appetizers to the dessert -- everything is top notch, in... More

My friend and I enjoyed watching the Super Bowl at the Old Homestead Steakhouse. The food was superb, the service was attentive and our evening was spectacular. A very fun evening. The Kobe Sliders were amazing as were the Oysters Rockefeller! We'll be back!

I love steak so when my friend who loves steak as much as I do recommended this place, I was so excited to try it. For appetizers, we ordered fresh oysters, a selection from the east and west coast; the Homestead Chopped salad with black olives, blue cheese and basil vinaigrette and both were delicious. For the main, we ordered... More

We loved the Prime Porterhouse Steak for two! Absolutely one of the the best Steak in NYC. Amazing and historical restaurant, you can feel you are in a piece of story of NYC. Very good hospitality, very good food!

The Old Homestead has the lush, traditional ambience that one would expect. The food was all well-prepared. T-bone may have been the best meat. We were six people and the service was very good and the food came as ordered (nobody sent anything back). PS - I am a hard grader.

The food is what you would expect from a steakhouse. Good but not great. Pricey, so I did not like waiting 35 minutes in the super packed front bar area (even though we had reservations). The host was extremely nice, always apologizing- and he stands out because he was sincere. Waiters have attitudes, like they're doing you a favor. I... More

We came to this restaurant looking forward to good quality beef. Unfortunately, the food quality was consistently bad for all of us. The service was ok but could not make up for the bad food. Stay away.
