A large restuarant on three floors serving an amazing array of dim sum where the trolleys come round at the rate of knots. The choice is great and the quality and freshness of the dim sum is superb. If you are going for Saturday or Sunday lunch book well in advance

Great lunch in Chinatown. The Pork Buns and the Shrimp Dumplings were the stand outs, but everything was great. We also had a side order of vegetable fried rice.. Excellent and very additive to all of the other items. Very enjoyable lunch... Would certainly recommend.

I am a big fan of dim sum, but I found the number of dishes at The Golden Unicorn very limited. The majority of the food was served cold and the service was just okay. I asked on 2 separate occasions for bok choy which is a special order and it never came. My beer was also served warm. I... More

This is not the first time we have been here but it is the first time we did not like the food in the same way. The dumplings were burnt as were some other dim dum items and the octopus had a very strange flavor which we told the waiter about and he stated "good good good". We will be... More

Haven't had dim sum for a long time & going to Golden Unicorn brought back great memories. We were seated right away & within 5 min had tea & several dishes on our table. Typical large Chinese restaurant layout in a big room and lots of round tables. Efficient service & good food.

Casual, funky decor, busy dim sum restaurant in Chinatown. Inexpensive, and not a long wait....may need to table share. We were seated in the back on the 2nd floor. Whenever the waitresses came by, the had their backs and the back of the cart to us, asked the other couple at the table what they wanted, then walked away. Ordered... More

My wife if HK Chinese. She was desperate for Dim Sum in NYC and Golden Unicorn came highly recommended. It was very good. All the normal stuff, but very well cooked. My wife thought it was good, and that's saying something. Staff were excellent. Don't understand the bad comments about staff.

These people have no respect, no manners and do not know what service is! This was our one big mistake in New York! They can not explain what is on the dishes, they get upset with you for not "understanding". It was 10.20 and they started vacuuming the restaurant. Also around and under our table. I asked them to stop,... More

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
