When I was in NYC during the summer I had asked what restaurant in Chinatown had the best Dim Sum and the responses were overwhelmingly leaning towards the Gold Unicorn. While I was there I could not find it (that shows my state of hunger: it was right across the street from where I ended up eating!) So, this trip... More

Every time I come to NY, I love to come here for lunch or dinner, food are delicious, cheap and they have good service. Shrimp dumpling, chive dumpling, spinach dumpling, veal chop, baked pork pastrie, lobster congee, durian pudding, mushroom e-fu noodle are very delicious.

I went with my two sons and a friend to this restaurant last July because another friend had recommended the restaurant to me due the "unique serving experience". We arrived at 3:00 PM for a late lunch, not knowing that the restaurant was about to close, but anyway, they let us in, saying that we still could eat. First at... More

3rd time here. You would not figure this the place to go as a tourist. Enter a "dingy" lobby take an elevator up to third floor, the door open and you seem to be in China. They wisk you to a table and the Dim Sum begins. Food always good. Prices reasonable. Not many speak English...

2 floors of dim sum tables. They don't speak much English, but they do try. Large variety of traditional dishes. As with all well known dim sum places it gets pretty busy after 11:30am. It opens at 9am as per signage, but we got there at 10 and at least on our floor we were one of the first. There... More

Love this place!!! Food was great, service was very good and the food never stopped coming!!! Lots of vegetarian options, for all my vegetarian friends (I was the only meat eater in a table of 5+ people!). The meat options were also very yummy. When in China Town, you wanna come eat here!

traditional dim sum on a week-end. great fun. need to know dim sum or be an adventurous eater. They push the carts by your table and you pick from the food on the cart. we liked all that we picked out except one. the buns are fantastic. We arrived earlier enough that we only had a 15 minute wait. when... More

Dim sum is pretty good here. The taste is actually quite good and not as greasy as some other NYC Chinatown venues. The only issue is that it is sometimes inconsistent when it comes to being hot upon arrival to your table. Crowds on weekend speak to its popularity. Well worth a try if you have the patience to wait.

The sesame buns are a must! I liked the dumplings. Service is in Chinese language but a smile is the universal language for more.

If you're frequently in NYC, it's easy to get in a rut and keep going to the same places. Recently we started sampling Dim Sum restaurants, starting in Chinatown, NYC. The restaurant generally does not take reservations, so you put your name on the list, get a number and wait to be called - standard operating procedure for the neighborhood.... More
