Authentic dim sum and Cantonese food; but weekends have large party and very crowded. Call for large group reservation may help!

My friend suggested that we go here for lunch since this is one of the best dimsum places she has ever been (she's Chinese, so she knows what she is talking about). When we reached the place, it was packed and the queue was LOOONNNGG! We were number 97 and the number being called was 33. But despite that, we... More

Pros: Dim sum among the best I have tried. Variety was good, and dishes came quickly, The service was quite good as well. Prices were modest (between $-$$). We had several shrimp and chicken dim sum, but I couldn't tell you the exact name. Others at our table liked the chicken's feet, but we passed. Cons: Thirty minute wait lasted... More

We have been coming to the Golden Unicorn for years and recently made a return visit. It lived up to our expectations, with a wide variety of classic Chinese selections. It may not meet the standards of San Francisco, but this is a good option if you want to be assured you will not be disappointed. We ate a ton... More

We come back to Golden Unicorn whenever we visit NYC, and it never disappoints. It is a MASSIVE restaurant - always lively and the dim sum is delicious. Highly recommend.

This could be one of my favorite places to visit every time I come into Manhattan. The dim sum is amazing and it's very authentic. It's got a real great flavor of old in New York City and Chinatown.

If there is a better dim sum restaurant on the U.S. East Coast then I am not aware of it. I've been to Golden Unicorn several times and the food has been consistently fresh and well prepared. The restaurant always seems to be busy, and the clientele always seems to be overwhelmingly ethnic Chinese - two very positive signs for... More

This Dim Sum restaurant is on the second floor, so it was a bit interesting to find, but well worth it. I'd like to be able to tell you exactly what I ate, but we mostly ordered by the way things looked. I Love trying new things, so this meal was great fun and super tasty. We had an egg... More

Best dim sum I ever ate, and that includes the amazing ones I had in Shanghai! The food keeps on coming in small carts to your table, you eat amazing dishes until you explode, and then you find out that the check is at an awesome price range as well. What can be better??

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
