Delicious Authentic Latin Eatery

Visited Calle Ocho last month and had a delicious experience. The skirt steak with the latin fried rice was amazing! The only downfall is that it is very loud in the restaurant and it is very dimly lit, which is great for couples, but tough for having conversations. Still, the food was well worth... read more

Out of all of the incredible dining experiences in NYC, Calle Ocho is just one of our favorites! The room is beautiful, the staff is attentive but not overbearing, and the food is consistently fantastic. Most of all - the mojitos are the best I have ever found! I still miss the old location, but it is the same wonderful... More

The food was amazing, the location just off Central Park is great for a before dinner stroll. While many rave about their brunch, their dinner is great as well. I recommend the duck.

This place is a great restaurant to meet while at the Excelsior Hotel (connected). The bar is small, but the staff are great. Lots of trendy lounge seating (couches, etc) which made drinks after coming back to the hotel in the evening easy. Food was also excellent, although limited menu. Great environment overall

We weren't able to secure reservations but after waiting 20 minutes we were able to get a seat in the lounge area. It was worth the wait. The food was simply amazing, especially the bread! The unlimited Sangria was a bonus. Will definitely return!

We ate here on our first night in New York as it was conveniently located in our hotel. Staff was very helpful and attentive. However, we found the music too loud as we could hardly have a conversation without shouting and although the food was nice the $200 bill for 1 starter, 4 main courses and drinks we found steep.

On my first trip to New York City we stumbled upon Calle Ocho and loved it in 2004. In 2007, on my second trip we discovered the Sangria Sunday Brunch. This being my husband's first trip to New York, I wanted to take him to my favourite restaurant. Online reservations were a bust so I emailed and was able to... More

The restaurant opens at 6 PM, the bar at 5:30. At 5:35 we needed to knock on the door as they did not open! However, once we got in, the bartender made me a delicious, made-to-order martini and my husband had a great beer. The good experiences went on from there. Great service and really good food. Would return again... More

We ate here as we were staying in the attached Hotel. It was better than expected and would highly recommend eating here. All of us enjoyed our appetizers and meal. I was especially blown away by the rolls that I had to request the recipe.

We visited the American Museum of Natural History (right across the street) and were looking for something different in the area. We decided on Calle Ocho. While the listing says Cuban food it really is Cuban Fusion. They have some traditional style food with interesting twists on other items. We had the Calamari Frito in a honey sauce and the... More
