Fantastic

We ate here as we were staying in the attached Hotel. It was better than expected and would highly recommend eating here. All of us enjoyed our appetizers and meal. I was especially blown away by the rolls that I had to request the recipe.

We ate here on our first night in New York as it was conveniently located in our hotel. Staff was very helpful and attentive. However, we found the music too loud as we could hardly have a conversation without shouting and although the food was nice the $200 bill for 1 starter, 4 main courses and drinks we found steep.

On my first trip to New York City we stumbled upon Calle Ocho and loved it in 2004. In 2007, on my second trip we discovered the Sangria Sunday Brunch. This being my husband's first trip to New York, I wanted to take him to my favourite restaurant. Online reservations were a bust so I emailed and was able to... More

The restaurant opens at 6 PM, the bar at 5:30. At 5:35 we needed to knock on the door as they did not open! However, once we got in, the bartender made me a delicious, made-to-order martini and my husband had a great beer. The good experiences went on from there. Great service and really good food. Would return again... More

We visited the American Museum of Natural History (right across the street) and were looking for something different in the area. We decided on Calle Ocho. While the listing says Cuban food it really is Cuban Fusion. They have some traditional style food with interesting twists on other items. We had the Calamari Frito in a honey sauce and the... More

Coming from Miami, we were hesitant to try this restaurant. It was such a wonderful surprise. The food was superb and the service was great.

5 of us had dinner and shared a bunch of appetizers. To mention a few: beet salad not much flavor and dressing, fried shrimp was the best, and the quesadilas were bland. We all shared a tortilla platter which generated this low rating. The tortilla wrappers were thick and dominated the flsvors, the 4 fillings were bland with tough beef.... More

I have dined at Calle Ocho many times. My last visit was Sunday June 28th,2015. I had a groupon for dinner. Calle Ocho's groupon's are great! Each diner can order an appetizer, entree and dessert. Many restaurant groupon's have shared appetizer's and dessert. I have eaten here without a groupon and have spent much more money. The food is consistently... More

I enjoyed Calle Ocho, but the food was small and the atmosphere very loud. Service was excellent, as were the flavors of the dish and the mix of the drinks. Enjoyed it, but would try another Cuban place for a first time before returning to this one.

Everyone always talks about the unlimited Sangria brunch, but this place is more than that. The bread basket...wear loose fitting pants just for that. Delicious! The skirt steak, mushroom paella, shrimp...all good. I haven't had a bad meal here yet. I can't say much for the desserts, since I'm always too full to order one, but they do look delicious... More
