Great Nuevo Latino food!

I have dined at Calle Ocho many times. My last visit was Sunday June 28th,2015. I had a groupon for dinner. Calle Ocho's groupon's are great! Each diner can order an appetizer, entree and dessert. Many restaurant groupon's have shared appetizer's and dessert. I have eaten here without a groupon and... read more

5 of us had dinner and shared a bunch of appetizers. To mention a few: beet salad not much flavor and dressing, fried shrimp was the best, and the quesadilas were bland. We all shared a tortilla platter which generated this low rating. The tortilla wrappers were thick and dominated the flsvors, the 4 fillings were bland with tough beef.... More

I enjoyed Calle Ocho, but the food was small and the atmosphere very loud. Service was excellent, as were the flavors of the dish and the mix of the drinks. Enjoyed it, but would try another Cuban place for a first time before returning to this one.

Everyone always talks about the unlimited Sangria brunch, but this place is more than that. The bread basket...wear loose fitting pants just for that. Delicious! The skirt steak, mushroom paella, shrimp...all good. I haven't had a bad meal here yet. I can't say much for the desserts, since I'm always too full to order one, but they do look delicious... More

Besides having a waiter who seemed buzzed on speed, so lickity quick he hardly spoke, the food was simply terrible. A great disappointment as it use to be a fine place with dependably good Cuban food. It appears that the menu went fusion but I'm afraid it fused with all things bad. The food was overly salted with no underlying... More

It's on the north side of the American Museum of Natural History, in the Excelsior Hotel. They serve dinners only on week days. Two areas by the bar near the entrance are inviting. The dim lighting makes ambiance cozy and welcoming, but it may cover up some imperfection, like the ceiling above our table - it didn't bother us in... More

My best friend and I love this place. the food was great. They have a nice selection of sangria that if you are a sangria lover, you will need to try. The staff is very attentive and friendly. They vibe of the places is very Latino :)

Make sure you make a reservation weeks in advance and you are good to go. The sangria is awesome and the food to matches it. The prices are decent for what you get. If you do not plan on drinking then this may not be your place as it gets loud with everybody going to town on the unlimited sangria.

We came to try Cuban food. Very nice establishment and great service. The passion fruit mojito is amazing. The food was good quality. Tasted a little under seasoned but still good for my first experience. I would try again.

Ok so I have to admit that I like coming here for brunch. The food is awesome. They seat you quickly with a reservation, without one, you can be waiting for quite a long while. Depending on what day you go, during the week or on a weekend, it can go from an intimate setting to a club atmosphere real... More
