Returned for lunch 2 days in a row

Large bustling restaurant, efficient Maitre d' but not particularly friendly. Wait staff pleasant and efficient. We had salads both days, huge but fresh and tasty. It was very busy the night we were there. But we were seated right away. the service was good and we did not have to wait very long for drinks or our meal. The meal was very good. The prices were a little high but it is also a fine dining restaurant. I would recommend it we had a nice... More

We needed to find some place close to Carnegie Hall for a quick bit before a performance, and we wanted to eat outside. The hostess was really nice, and gave my husband the table he wanted--even though it had not been cleaned up yet. Our waiter was great. Very funny and sarcastic but very entertaining! Our food was ok--a bit... More

They have the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had, so was disappointed when I could not get that at breakfast. However, the three cheese omelet, truffle fries, and bacon were excellent! We ordered french toast for the table to share, it was delicious. Party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their food. Robinson is a great waiter!

Stopped in on a Thursday morning for brunch as we headed to Central Park. We were greeted & seated right away but for me that was the extent of the "good" customer service! It took awhile before someone came to take our order & when he did, he was so fast we felt like we were a bother more than... More

They recommended this place and it was one of my best nights in NYC. Amazing table near the window, it was open so the spring night breeze of NYC shared the dinner with us. Servicd was perfect, food and wine was great! I recommend the tuna with sesame. Great dish! A place to go back in each trip to NYC.... More

We dropped in without any reservation and had a good table. I do not remember exactly what we had, but the menu card was rather diverse and I would say typically New York style. The service was very good. A place to come vack to for lunch.

I am a long lasting client of Rue 57. Not a very long menu, but everything is delicious and the bistro-like atmosphere is very pleasant. You won't regret it.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
