Awesome Valentine's Day meal with my girl.

We have been attempting to get to this restuant for some time but they close a bit early as we are late diners. But it was well worth the wait and our meal was absolutely awesome. We dropped by after a matinee at a close by theater. Must say thanks to all of you that recommended it. Had their pre-theater $44 menu, and everything was superb. Fair priced wine list. Love the dining room. Next time I won't wear jeans, it befits the elegant setting. Service was excellent!

i wish this restaurant was in the upper west or upper east side where it belongs.. it is a beautiful , quiet restaurant with american food with a french flair. the dining room has tall ceiling and is quite marvelous. the service is attentive and the food is delicious. I had seared scallop with fois gras which were both melting... More

We came as a rather big table and were sitted in the top floor. The service was very slow in the begining of the meal (a bit better later). The food was delicious and the wine too. Unfortunately the overall experience was ruined because they reheated my main course (that was originally served lukewarm) - a very tasty serllion stake... More

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday here on Christmas Day (2014) and had a fantastic experience. We found it difficult to find a restaurant in NYC that was open and had a festive menu on Christmas Day. The restaurant is both elegant and sophisticated in decor and the dining room itself is not overly large. It feels intimate whilst still... More

We went here for a Christmas Eve special degustation menu and it was delightful. We reserved a month or so in advance. The menu and presentation is Inventive without being crazy and the food still resembled what it said on the menu. Very good service and lovely atmosphere with really wonderful dessert options. We had a very merry Christmas indeed!... More

Went here for Christmas dinner and the food was beyond anything I expected. Was part of the prix fixe they had. Was a bit disappointed that they had run out of lamb, but the food was amazing nonetheless. Service was pretty good...our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there, and couldn't recommend anything food wise and didn't know... More

Had a romantic birthday dinner and I have to say: one of the best in NYC! It's a serious food spot and the staff take it to the correct level. Sophisticated. Serene. So... My guy knew the sommelier Roger and that helped; he paired a glass (or two, gulp) with each course. Marco, the Chef/owner was very attentive and the... More

Somehow we missed midnight while chewing on what seemed to be reheated food. Our reservations for a more lovely Venue were cancelled last minite. So at 5pm on new years Eve we booked Tocqueville, The menu was nice the price reasonable. When we arrived we predicted this would Be the quietest new year of our lives, the only Thing quieter... We were looking for a top notch French restaurant. Couldn't get into Daniel or Le Bernadin, so we called up and they could fit us in. What a gem! Service was outstanding, ambiance excellent. Our server Amanda was extremely helpful in guiding us to the choices on the menu we would like. We had a foie gras terrine, yellow tail... More
