We were meeting a couple for a wedding celebration and one the groom's decided on the Chef's Table for our party of 7. Could not have been a better choice. Amazing how this institution keeps up it's well earned reputation for inspiring meals and over the top service!

Two different meals here over the course of 10 days -- both times as a walk in at slightly early hour.....how lucky! Great service, friendly atmosphere that is not 'too refined' but still very special. Wonderful oysters, great duck -- still amazing sides and always superbly done. This place never ceases to impress and inspire!

Union Square Cafe consistent and always the best for a special night out on the City. The intriguingly varied menu along with appetizers and the spectacular deserts make for a well rounded meal. The wine list is more than adequate and the ambiance is a very special. We would definitely go back.

This was an experience. When I see that this place was a cafe, I was thinking ok, reasonable prices and good food. This place was over priced, the service was terrible and the food barely edible. I ordered a burger and the bun was soggy. I will not go back.

I went to this restaurant some 25 years ago when it first opened and I must admit that it was better then. The lamb was cooked correctly and tasty but the side of broccoli rapa was simply boiled no herbs, garlic, oil or seasoning. We ordered berries twice that never arrived and I had to flag down the manager for... More

Had brunch there and was a bit disappointed. Appetizer of fried calamari was good, scallops appetizer too tough. Entree of chicken was overcooked, steak sirloin was skimpy , french fries were absent replaced by very hard sautéed potatoes. Dessert of key lime mousse good. Service was swift but requested second helping of bread never came. Wine by the glass OK but expensive.... More

We always go to Gramercy Tavern (a sibling restaurant) and we decided to give Union Square Café a try. NOT A MISTAKE - a little less formal but just as fabulous and again great wine, great food, great service! We will be back again and again!

A welcoming change to the other eating establishments we have tried on this visit to NY. Everything about this restaurant (the name 'cafe' does not do it justice) is first class -from ambience to service and especially to food. You will not be disappointed. Not cheap but worth spoiling yourself and a grateful change from your "run-of-the-mill" Italian and other... More

Yes, a simple meal, but perfect. My last meal in NY for a while. Lunch. Appetizer: a gorgeous nectarine with pancetta. Main couses - a rare hamburger and a BLT. How simple does that get? But really, beyond reproach. Dessert - peach melba with raspberry coulis. And off to the airport! How does a restaurant keep a consistency so high?... More
