Union Square Café is the first restaurant Danny Meyer opened in NYC. I intended to go since I read his book "Setting the table". This was in fact the one of the first restaurant I visited as soon as I moved to NYC. I went there afterwork on a weekday and did not have a booking. I was by myself... More

We went for a family dinner outing. We all loved our food. However, the service was very lacking. Unfortunately, it tainted the entire experience. The checks were done incorrectly and this was not insignificant. We arrived for dinner at 6:30 pm and did not leave until after 11pm! I have no idea what should have been so hard about getting... We went for lunch and it was just fine, but the upper levels seemed too warm a temperature and a bit noisy for my taste. The nice hostesses placed us in a lower level, quieter and cooler, so we were OK, but for me it was just a little too crowded and noisy. It is all a matter of personal... More

Visited NYC this past weekend and returned again for dinner to Union Square Cafe. This place is an NYC institution and for a good reason. It is just one of the best. From the food to the service, everything is just top notch. They just go out of there way to make you feel special. I cannot say enough kind... More

This restaurant continues to be a gem in NYC. Will definitely hate to see it go. The food is excellent, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is perfect. A high end restaurant that delivers a great meal every time.

Love USC. They will be moving locations in the near future, so do yourself a favor and visit them here while you can. The staff is super friendly and gracious. The service is always perfect. The food is insanely good. Everything I've ever had here, I'm always amazed at how good it is. The vegetables, the pastas, the fish, meat,... More

Have not visited this establishment for many moons , the standered has not declined over the years . It is probably one of the last of its kind as I have heard it is now to close at the expiration of its present lease . And New York will inherit even more of the like of Shake Sheiksas . Use... We have loved this restaurant for a long time. You can expect the staff to be attentive and alert and kind. Our server...Kevin...was exceptional! I wish all restaurant staff could be like him! He was patient and answered our many questions expertly! The food is fabulous...especially the unique pastas!

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
