We went to Union Square Cafe to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday and had the most amazing meal. Service was outstanding and the food was just superb. Had not been there in over 12 years and was so glad to see that it has not lost it's magic. Definitely worth the splurge for an amazing meal. I would highly recommend... More

We didn’t make reservations at this place, we were at the union square farmer’s market so we thought we would have brunch/lunch here. We walked in, visibly more than 80% of the tables were free, the hostess asked us if we had reservations, we answered no, she then whispered with another girl, they then decided to seat us in their... I recently visited Union Square Cafe for lunch on a quick trip to NYC for business. This may have been the best business lunch I've had! We were seated in the back of the restaurant which was not too loud considering the place was jam packed. Our server was attentive and made fantastic food recommendations. I started with the Bibb... Diners have long rated Union Square Café as one of the most pleasant dining experiences in New York. The wait-staff excel at making diners feel welcome and important. The food is very good in a homey way. Portions are generous, everything is well prepared. The wine list reflects the sommelier's expertise. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant in this class.

When I dine out, particularly at a restaurant that has an excellent reputation, I never order something I can competently make at home. I already barbecue the best steak anyone can, so when,I ordered the prime New York strip steak I had to have second thoughts while it was being prepared. My wife and I were being treated, so I... This was our third visit and the food has been consistently delsious, innovative without being complicated, and served well. First the good: the salmon crudo, marinated anchovies and spaghettini Siciliano were prepared to perfection. We raved about each and scraped our plates. The bad: we were offered a table in front of the exit from the kitchen; a request for... More

Returned to USC after many years absence, especially now that the news has come out that USC cannot continue to rent the space it occupies since opening in 1985. Although this will not happen till the end of 2015, better make sure you get your share of this most delicious "pie". This restaurant has always, and again now, wowed me... More

The restaurant is quaint. A renovated print shop I believe. The wine list is fabulous. The dinner menu covers all bases. I had the porkloin wrapped in prosciutto. Excellent flavor. The desserts were great. I had the Tiramisu sundae. All reasonable priced. The service was outstanding! 2-3 sips of water and it was refilled. Friendly server. She gave us tips... More
