Took a date for her birthday here. We were right in front of the live jazz band! They were at a perfect volume, so you can still converse. The seafood tower, the wine, the Chilean Sea Bass, the ambiance, all were top-notch. Take a date, take clients, take your mother! just go

Blue Water Grill has been around for a long while and always one of my favs. Beautiful light colored decor, great service and nice food! It was perfect for a summer evening but in fact great place all year round. You forget all the hustle and bustle happenings outside in Union Square just across the street and just feel calm... More

We were fortunate to get a table outside which still allows for quiet conversation. The food was excellent by all accounts. The service was outstanding (ask for Paul). The pre-fixe was a great deal -- one of the best in NYC. For $38, we got three courses.

Stopped in for lunch before a nearby show and was instantly drawn to their Sunday brunch menu. Actually, my eyes never made it past the crab cake benedict. The choice was easy and an excellent one. The complimentary Bloody Mary (or Bellini, or few others) was a nice touch and helps to show the price friendliness - I felt the... More

I have walked passed this restaurant many times but never tried it but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service. Specially chilean sea bass was rather exquisite.

Good go to standby on the Square. The mini lobster rolls, more like a pigs in a blanket format, were a yummy bite. If you sit upstairs try to get next to the rail you will have a bird eye view of the first floor.

Was looking forward to my first visit. Got to sit on the terrace. Food was ok but service terrible. Asked the waitress for 5 minutes to decide and ended up having to call her 10 minute later to place our order. My partner asked for a beer which did not arrive until 1/2 way through the meal. The waitress spoke... More

Many years ago I had been to Blue Water Grill several times. It was fun, the food was good. This pas Saturday nite(2 August 2015) friends invited me for a birthday celebration. The restaurant lost our reservation, then they gave away our table, meaning another 20 minute wait. The service was pretty bad - 3 out of 5 orders were... More

Blue Water Grill offered a fabulous break on a very hot day. The initial greeting, the service by our server and assistant were all incredibly welcoming and friendly. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty. I would highly recommend this restaurant - especially to fish/seafood lovers!

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
