The dining room is small and noisy and the tables are packed in. It was very difficult to communicate with our server, but that wasn't necessarily her fault. Several dishes were good -- the sweet potato ravioli, a nice bass served with corn chowder, the grape soup, but many were disappointing (especially the peach dessert -- which our server removed... more

I was told the "pig" on the menu was served 3 ways; tenderloin sous vide, braised cheeks and broiled belly. What I received was a large bland pork chop which I would NEVER have ordered. The lamb was tough and unseasoned. The first courses were totally unremarkable. Dessert was served with a different ice cream than was promised on the... more

Truth be told we only found out about this restaurant as it was featured in the news when Obama went there. As a mid holiday treat, after reading reviews I decided to book us a table there and boy was it worth it. The food, atmosphere, service and surroundings were outstanding and though not cheap, nowhere near as much as... more

The farm fresh egg, $15.99, was so delicious. I never thought food tasted so good. It wasn't the spices or cooking magic, entirely. The innovative pairings only work because the food comes from the sustainable farm 30 minutes outside of the city. The lamb was so delicious, the potatoes were like none I had ever tasted. more

A very disappointing evening. Salad was awesome...entrees were bland and more so. Chicken looked and tasted like lunch meat. Fish was fishy. Lamb was fatty. Spend your $$$$$ in a better place. What were Michelle and Barack thinking????? more

I will be adding this one to my list of must visits when in NYC. We didn't have a reservation but there was plenty of room at the bar. Peter, our bartender, was cordial, funny, and well informed of all menu items (which sometimes do need explantations). First off was a beautiful presentation of locally grown vegetables from the chef.... more

We have wanted to go here for years, and finally went for a celebratory birthday/new job dinner. The food is all great, and super-fresh, being that everything except the fish is from their own farm. The waitstaff seemed genuinely enthused about the food and wine, and they gave us a few little extras during the meal. It's in an old... more
