Super fresh and a really enjoyable experience!

After seeing Chef Dan Barber and Blue Hill on the Chef's Table (on Netflix), Blue Hill was at the top of our list for places to eat in NYC. We did the 7 course tasting menu for 2. The chef has gone too far to prove the farm to table experience and has lost the meaning of a farm to table meal. Very expensive for inexpensive ingredients .

We decided to dine here after I heard Dan Barber interviewed by Krista Tippett of On Being. I booked one month out by phone. Just a word to the wise--this is a small restaurant with a small bar. Upon arrival, we had to wait a few minutes, and ordered a drink from the bar. While they have a limited cocktail... More

We had been to Stone Barns but this was our first experience at the simpler city restaurant. Very unassuming ground floor location down half a flight from the street. Low ceilinged dining room simply buzzing on a Saturday evening. This was one of the few meals in my life that I could rate as perfect from setting to service to... More

This was a superb foodie experience. Every promise made was completely fulfilled. We had a great night and would recommend to anyone who loves food as art to eat here.

The food was very good and the service was fine. You have to spent quite long time from the start to the end. We waitet a long time between the courses and after a while we ask them to speed a little up. We came 7.30 pm and left again about 00.00. But if you have the time and love... More

Charming building, very incognito! We celebrated my 40th here and had by far the most amazing meal. The dining experience was amazing, relaxed, and we really enjoyed the whole staff. We felt like they kept bringing us food, one course after another. And extras from the chefs, because of my birthday. Beautiful plating and presentation of each course. Wine list... More

Came here to celebrate my engagement with my wife and we both agreed this was one of the best meals we ever ate. The night started with a complementary glass of champagne they gave us, which was very unexpected but they knew we were celebrating our engagement. The food we ate was so incredibly fresh and delicious - it was... More

Chef's Table steered us right. This was one of the best meals we've enjoyed in any city, and certainly lived up to its billing. Theplace is small but attractive with the charm of Greenwich Village and an old school ambiance. The staff were gracious, helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Wine service was very good. We opened, enjoyed and shared our bottles... More

Dinner last night at Blue Hill was as close to perfect as you can get. The food was excellent and presented beautifully. Vegetables have never tasted this good to me having been brought up on canned and frozen stuff. The service was friendly, attentive and caring. The surroundings were calm, restful and soothing; the perfect complement to the food and... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
