Spring is a tough time for locavores. The menu made delicious use of rhubarb, stinging nettle, ramps, morels and other spring foods from the Blue Hill farm. The pork dish contained several different cuts. We ate lamb and fish as well. The dried rhubard with the dessert was brilliant (both in colour and flavour). This was a great meal with... More

We went there on a Saturday evening with some friends, we found the whole experience amazing, the place, service, and The FOOD!!! Some of us had the 6 course menu and I had the 3 course menu. We were all impressed by every plate. To me, the gnochis were the most delicious course. And for the sweet fans...the desserts were... More

My husband and I had dinner here several years ago, and we returned this time with our extended family to celebrate Mother's Day. We especially like the fact that we can carry on conversations without raising our voices. The staff are attentive but not intrusive. The food is farm-to-table fresh and just original enough . Everything from service to food... More

I planned a trip to New York for a getaway. My brother from Holland surprised us with a reservation for Blue Hill, featured in an episode of Chef's Table. As a wellness retreat hotelier myself which promotes a 'food as medicine' philosophy, I was beyond impressed by the entire experience; from quaintness of atmosphere, impeccable service, to the charming presentation... This restaurant has been on my list to visit for sometime. After watching the episode of Chef's Table featuring Dan Barber and seeing the heroic things he is doing, I knew I had to get there and experience this myself. The menu respects the seasons and respects the food in every sense. So much of what you eat comes from... More

Blue Hill lives up to its philosophy. The food is elegant, refined, detailed and delicious, but it is the ingredients as much as the technique that you'll taste. Whether it's the salumi or a radish, a cheese or a fiddlehead, the source of flavor is right there in front of you. The service is, as you'd hope, prompt, helpful and... More

Very high quality and interesting menu. On the most part sample sized portions made up with multiple courses. Mostly locally produced and seasonal foods. Great and attentive staff.

It was my 2nd visit - I went a few years ago and it blew my mind... This time around we sat at the bar for a more informal evening... It really has to be one of the best spots in NY... Very fresh and high quality ingredients... Good yet muted atmosphere - a mellow vibe... We did the tasting... More

I picked Blue Hill for a special occasion after reading intriguing story in NYTimes, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant totally delivered! We ordered different dishes and shared around, and they were all outstanding, except for Cod Collar, which I didn't care for. My favorite was Vegetable Salad with Apple--so fresh and yet complex. Service was superb--efficient, courteous and... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
