After walking around in Little Italy to find a simple restaurant that served pizza in Little Italy, we found Da Nico. The place is very understated as there is not a lot of flash in the front decor, or sprawling tables lining the sidewalk. Sometimes the understated is better. Surprisingly, a lot of places seemed to not feature PIzza and... More

We sat in the garden area which was nice to be away from the busy streets of NYC. The food was delicious and the service was great. I wish my stomach would have been bigger so I could have finished my awesome meal. Even more so when they brought out the tasty puff pastries for an after dinner dessert and... More

Stopped here for lunch since it was recommended by a friend. The food was outstanding! Upon entering, the staff seemed to be preoccupied with the soccer game that was playing, but not to worry, the service was wonderful, attentive and prompt! We were not in a hurry and had a fantastic lunch out of all of the hustle and bustle.... More

enter through the front doors and make your way back to the outdoor patio for a relaxing respite from a busy day. Authentic red sauce with bread and a glass of red would have been enough. But do venture through the menu and enjoy. Great hospitality and service.

My kids and I stopped for lunch on a Sunday and the place was packed - unlike the 2 places across the street. We had manicotti, fettuccine Alfredo and pizza margarhita. The food was pretty good but my teenage son was a little disappointed that he only got 2 manicotti rolls. I'm guessing it was a lunch portion. The pizza... More

This is the staple of tourist rip off Service is horrible Food....can make better pasta at home They push you until you have to order so do not think this is a chill out dinner with your love one or friends Then comes the last nail on the coffin, the bill They put the 20% tip for you since they... Went in for dinner on a weeknight in the dead of winter. Food was the best we had in NY. The price was comparable with others in the neighborhood. Service was freindly, felt like a regular on our first experience. If you walked there or took a cab make sure you know where your going when tou leave there at... More

My family arranged a surprise birthday party for me this past week. We had cousins in town in addition to a few relatives who live in New York. Da Nico was selected, as we have frequented their other restaurant in S.I., which we love. Everything from their special focaccia, to the hot and cold antipasto, to the wine, to the... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
