My wife and I celbrated our 3rd anniversary and we planned our NYC trip around our reservation. When I made the reservation, via opentable.com, they asked if it was a special occasion, etc. They said they would give us a romatic and quiet table, do a special dessert, etc. When we arrived, 15 mins early of our reservation, we didn't... more

Intimate and cozy, like a sophisticated Country Inn--you don't feel like your're in the middle of Greenwich Village. Service was impeccable. Upon enterring the rather hidden entrance from Barrow Street we were whisked immediately to our table (though we were offered a seat a t the bar if we wanted). The food was excellent, with the minor exception of the... more

My partner and I visited this restaurant one evening, would have to admit took a while to find it as its not clearly signed the name of restaurant, however when we arrived, pianist was playing at the bar area and we were seated in the dining room which is beautifully lit and each table had a candle and rose. The... more

This restaurant has a nice romantic atmosphere with a piano bar, but we were disappointed overall. We waited for our appetizers for a long time, and then a manager came back with a piece of paper and claimed that we've "only" been waiting for 36 minutes since placing the order, which is normal, and therefore there's nothing to worry about.... more

My mom and I went during the restaurant week rates, $35 per person. This restaurant is usually $75 per person. The food was excellent and the ambiance cannot be beat. The service was good, not great, but that is OK. I would definitely return with my boyfriend for a romantic meal, even paying full price. more

Went with my husband while in New York City to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Everything was terrific, especially the atmosphere and the beef wellington. We plan on returning the next time we visit NYC. more

We had a pleasant evening at One if by Land on January 24, 2009. We sat upstairs in a pleasant, warm room that was nicely spaced out. Lovely piano music played throughout dinner. We ordered the tasting menu with matching wines for $150 per person. Every course (6 of them) of the food was very well done and beautifully presented.... more

The beef wellington is one of the best around. The location is full of history and romance. The piano playing in the background sets the tone for a romantic dining experience. more

My husband and I were there on Oct. 18th and found it a very charming restaurant. The food was good - not amazing - but we weren't disappointed. It is very romantic and the service was great. more
