I was given a Gift Certificate by a colleague and took her and her husband. Our prix fixe dinner was excellent, relaxed and service was superb. There are reasonably priced wines. This is a once in a lifetime experience: go to Daniel site and just read the menu.

This is or was a hidden secret in the heart of Manhattan. Who would know at the top of a museum that one could find such a spectacular place! Food is superb, service excellent and views to die for - even if it's raining, foggy or snowing! The whole package.

My Wife and I celebrated her 50th birthday in NYC and Daniel was her selection and I couldn't be more pleased with her choice. The food was amazing! The service was second to none! The experience was priceless! The only thing that surprised me was the cost of a cup of coffee we had with desert. All things considered I... More

The place is stuffy with rules and quite conversations. Fine dining is stuffy and they all should be nice stuffy as Daniel. Don't go there to impress the wait staff. If you don't know, they will kindly assist you.

This is the second time i have eaten here. The first was in a group of three and this time there were 12 of us in the private south room upstairs. Food is exceptional and changes seasonally, the service is beyond compare. Wine list just boggles with its choice, order a fine red and check out how they decant it... More

This is an elegant restaurant in terms of room, service and clientele (more sedate and less loud). we had heard mixed reviews given the restaurant had lost one of its starts for apparent inconsistency. Our table was well positioned and we were well looked after. The menu was interesting but not stunning. There were a number of choices of menu.... More

Beautiful venue. Grand dining room with luxurious touches from a decor sense. Highlight was an amazing Sommelier (Adam) who was exceptionally attentive and engaging. Table Captain was certainly polite but flat. The whole experience was a bit too austere and cold. I don't believe that fine-dining (and even Michelin-starred restaurants) need to be lacking personality and soul and this place... More

We chose this restaurant as a special occasion being my partners first visit to New York - and what a delightful evening we had ! Choose the four course tasting with Sommelier chosen matching wines - so well matched with the wonderful and creatively prepared food . Highly recommended

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
