Food and service here is pretty good, but if you have experienced the UK likes of Le Gavroche or LeManoir Quatre Saisons, or the Waterside Inn, or Fat Duck etc (not to mention the ones in France), then prepare for a disappointment. Jean Georges may be one of the best in New Yok but service is sloppy, bordering on cavalier,... more

We booked our pre opera meal here as we had eaten in Jean Georges Shanghai a few years ago and had had a fantastic meal there. The service was fine but the food was a disappointment. There seemed to be no subtlety whatsoever to the flavours. My husband's starter was extremely over heavy with ginger and the steak I ordered... more

This is always one of the highlights of going to NYC - haute cuisine on a budget. We're not talking cheap but $30-50 pp for this kind of sybaritic indulgence (including alcohol) is well worth it. This restaurant of his in the Trump building on the southwest side of Central Park is the granddaddy and the one that always has... more

We had lunch there for my birthday and we loved the service and the food was wonderful. When they heard it was my birthday they gave me a free desert which was delicious. They made my birthday special and I will be back again . Loved it. more

There are two restaurants at Trump; you walk through La Nougatine in order to reach Jean Georges. JG doens't have a separate bar. On the evening we went, we were asked to wait in the Nougatine bar, where we had to stand up in a bit of a crush and get ourselves a drink when we could catch the barman's... more

We visited here on our last afternoon in NYC and it was the most disappointing meal we had. Though the food was of very high quality, and impressively beautiful, the speed of service, and unhelpfulness was dire, to say the least. We had booked in for 2pm and our drinks arrived sometime after 230pm, which is when they finally took... more

Went there with the family. We ate in the Terrace. Staff were polite and efficient, but not particularly charming or comfortable. Food was inventive almost bordering on silly )feta on watermellon cunk with olive oil) - except it all tastes great! So what seemed silly starts looking tasty! more
