We went for happy hour appetizers to reduce cost before we went to a show at the McKittrick Hotel. we had several items like a stuffed potato, roasted pork and a plantain dish. absolutely delicious. dinner was pricey. but this place seemed right out of a Havana wet dream. It all seemed to work though. Wait staff was very efficient... More

Had dinner this past Friday night here at Son Cubano have been there before years back at a previous location. This location is much larger and comfortable. We arrived for dinner at 7PM and the restaurant was nearly empty with a few people at the bar. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and took care of us very nicely.... More

This was probably one of the best meals that we had while in the NYC. The waitstaff was wonderful and the food was exquisite. Can't wait to go back.

Make sure you book ahead to get a table as you don't want to miss the food here. I wasn't sure what to expect from a Cuban restaurant but I must say that the food was delicious and it's worth being adventurous and trying something new. For starters we ordered the fresh guacamole which was the best I've had, it... More

The food is fairly authentic. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff welcoming. A bit over priced but, what do you expect when in NYC.

A Cuban-themed restaurant/bar in the heart of Chelsea in NYC, Son Cubano gives an ambiance reminiscent of that of the 50’s and 60’s supper clubs. Upon entry into the premises, one is quickly brought back to the era with its classic dining arrangement and décor. Rather appropriate as I met up with some old college friends whom I have not... Beautifully plated, delicious Cuban classics, with a twist. For example, the Baby Pernil, is a slow braised Pork Shank, instead of Pork Shoulder, and excellent. The Serrano-wrapped Plantains were also a hit, as was the Octopus appetizer. All of the seafood and fish dishes we had were delicious. The service on July 4th was abominable. Plan on long waits for... More

I celebrated my birthday here with nine other people. The menu was pre-fixe, so we were limited with choices, but what we had was very tasty. For appetizers, we had Empanadas with Spinach, Croquettes with crabmeat, and Stir-fried Pork with lemon and garlic. Our entree choices were equally delicious. I ordered the Churrasco (skirt steak with yucca fritters). I highly... More
