Just left Johns place after an Ok if rather large pizza . Have tasted better and after a 25 min wait to get seated my daughter and I were rather hungry. We went here as I had a dine out 4 less card and it was stated on their webpage that 15% discount on all food with card. This was... read more

We found this place on our last night in NYC - wish we had found it sooner!! It's an old church made in to a pizza restaurant so it has a lot of unique character. The staff was friendly and helpful...advised us that we were ordering too much pizza and suggesting splitting one pizza. So so good!!! I want to... More

This pizza place is amazing. We went simple ordering a cheese pizza and it was great. I liked how they were fast with service even though they have a ton of people to serve. A really peculiar aspect that stood out to me, was the fact that they gave us fresh parmigiana cheese. It was so different that the usual... More

Party of three were really starving in NYC and after a local tour we headed to this Pizza restaurant. We ordered a "regular" pizza with ham and cheese added and it was really huge and tasty! we needed a lot of eater to finish it apart from the tea we had ordered. The service was fast, we also ordered garlic... More

This place is an Icon in NYC with what I consider the best pizza in the world made in great brick ovens. The sad part is that management has no interest in the cleanliness of the restaurant and especially the bathrooms. Enjoy the food, maybe take it to go.

We received suggestions to visit while in New York. Even the Big Bus tour driver suggested it. Well - I will say we both enjoyed it. Lots of seating. It was an old converted church. We arrived at an off hour so we got immediate seating. But on our way out it was packed. Wait lines were out the door.... More

Over the past few years I have been trying some of the other "famous" pizza joints in New York City and New Haven, but John's is still my favorite. I ate there again the other day, and it is still just as good as the first time I ate there, many years ago.

We stopped here on Dec 28th between the holidays. Not sure if that was the reason or what, but our dining experience lasted over 3+ hours! I could accept that more if this was some sort of fancy place or whatever but in the end, it's just a pizzeria. We got in the line outside the restaurant at 5:30pm. We... More

We were tired from traveling, and pizza and a Blue Moon hit the spot. We were happy with the food and service. We arrived a little before 5:00 and the restaurant was not crowded but by the time we left, it was full.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
