Best pizza ever!

We were here in in October 2014. The inside of the restaurant looked like an old church. Very cool. Had the Hawaiian, and it was the best pizza I've ever had! Thin crust, everything was so fresh! I would definitely go back next time I am in New York. {they didn't make a good long island... read more

Everyone we spoke to recommended this restaurant, so we had to try it and we LOVED IT! The menu is perfectly New York, the food is amazing and the service was great! Typical NY Pizza. You can't reserve a table here so, it's worth checking what times you can easily get a table.

Since discovering this pace on our 2nd visit to NYC we have always came here for our first night's dinner. The pizzas are fantastic and large two small pizzas will feed a family of three with still some left over. Always very busy in here but worth the wait.

Excellent Pizza, we had marinara with italian sausage, that was devine. We had a Ricotta Pasta that was also so tasty. This place was very busy but we got a table straight away. This place has so much character, it used to be an old church. Excellent and you must visit. THE BIG APPLE COCKTAIL was very strong...woohoo

My wife and I were looking for "authentic" NY thin crust pizza while out on the town. We ordered a small, which was perfect for two people. Service a little slow for just ordering a small pizza; as the place wasn't really that busy. Pizza was good but not the best we've ever had. Yes. We would revisit :)

Heard raves about this place so we stood in line and waited to get in, then waited inside for yet more time. Finally was seated upstairs. The place is beautiful in an old church. The pizza -we had the traditional- was disappointing. The sauce was very good and tasted fresh. However, the crust was overdone almost burnt and extremely thin... More

The building is an old church and stunning, the food is exceptional. The place does get very busy so would recommend booking at peak times but even when extremley busy the service is excellent and you do not feel rushed. Highly recommend

John's is a must visit ! The architecture is beautiful and you must get the pizza (while pie only, no slices). We mixed and matched several appetizers to compliment a pepperoni pie. The chicken wings had great flavor. The pizza crust is the perfect thinness and texture. Yum!!! I can't wait for the next slice.

Long wait for a table. We were taken to a table in the corner upstairs. There were lots of tables free downstairs but we were shoved in a corner next to a fire escape - zero atmosphere. This is hands-down the worst place that I have ever eaten at in the USA. The barman was rude, he served others in... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
