Description: Located in New York's landmark Helmsley Building, Bobby Van's Steakhouse has been serving the best porterhouse in town for the last eleven years. Upon entering, one is greeted with the sight of a credenza groaning under the weight of large bottles of wine. A bar full of regular customers is on the left and looking into the one-hundred seat dining room, one sees the thirty foot high ceiling and windows overlooking Park Avenue. To complement our Prime Aged Steaks our Sommelier has created an award winning wine list. Whether you're looking for a big Cabernet, a Pinot Noir or something in between our comprehensive list is sure to please. "

just finished lunch. A+ filet.....cooked perfectly. Classic steakhouse ambience....lots of wood......all male waitstaff. Pricey....but hey....this is New York City. The marinated asparagus was a terrific app. Perfect for " business" lunches or dinners.

Ate here with friends. Not sure how they picked it and it was quite hard to find. I was directed to 230 Park and this turned out to be an office building. However, just across the road there is another bit of the same building hosting Bobby Van's Steakhouse. The ambience is good and the steaks excellent. Service was on... More

The food was generally very good, while the service was terrible - especially how they handled payment. Just from another world!

Dinner was amazing. From steak to sea food, everyone was happy. The wait staff was attentive and anything we asked for came quickly. Wonderful time.

Passed up our regular haunt to try Bobby Van's....best decision we made after a great evening in NYC after a show at Radio City. If you're a beef lover you must go for the "Eye"....grilled to perfection! Little pricey on booze but overall a great visit.

Very good service with extensive wine list. Enjoyed soft shell crabs - probably the best I have ever eaten. Colleagues have steak and also had rave reviews. Good, but traditional list of sides. Overall a very enjoyable lunch.

But a lot better tasting. A serving brings a LOT of it to the table. Tender, perfectly seasoned, served in a classic setting basically in Grand Central Station. You can share a single order with some of their great sides. You could share between, well, 5-6 people. Maybe more. For a week or so. The salads look great, and could... More

Soft Shell Crabs were on the special board this evening. I have never had better prepared sold shells in my life. Pan fried and very crispy without any sauce. Incredible. Great sides and very good service. The only thing that is annoying is ...the tables are so close together, the noise level is quite high causing conversation to be strained.... More

Classy restaurant with waiting area in the bar. Friendly waiters. 16 oz sirloin steaks well cooked to order. Sides and steak can me shared without problem due to the meal sizes offered.
