Cute little dessert bar near Union Square

This is the first time I went to a dessert bar. It was interesting with lots of different desserts. We ordered a New York cheesecake, a molten lava with green tea ice cream, a chocolate sundae, and another green tea sundae. Everything was good and service was fast. It is a small place so even at... read more

I couldn't resist ordering two desserts. I can't remember the name of the first, it was kind of weird but nice all the same. The second dessert was a nutella cronut and it was divine. The guy working in there was really helpful in explaining which desserts were popular and what some of them were as they were quite unusual.... More

Went here to experience something new and it didn't disappoint. We loved the atmosphere and the desserts were amazing. The combination of the maitre d'/waiter who was wonderfully turned out and charming, the quiet efficiency and precision of the chef and sous chef right in front of you making these small pieces of art and the simple decor combined beautifully... Small, limited working days (thurs to Sunday), owner prepared French desserts bar--with wine pairing! Enjoy the individually prepared treats that can only be found at Michelin 3 Stars restaurants. This is a true find and hidden gem in East Village! Heaven!

"This review is for Dessert Club, ChikaLicious which is the Takeout version of the original dessert bar located right across the street at 204 East 10th Street." We ordered a chocolate cronut, cookie ice cream sandwich and two macroons and the total was almost $20, which I think is a little pricey for a takeout dessert. However, I think it... More

We joined my cousin at night for some dessert at her favorite spot, chikalicious in the east village. Dessert bar? (mind blown!) This whole experience was absolutely delightful! Backstory: chikalicious is owned by a japanese woman named chika and her husband (who wears bow ties)! For $16, you get a pre-fixe with an amuse, your choice of dessert, and assorted... More

Grab a seat at the counter and watch a master at work. Chika is gracious, charming, and very skilled at her art. First comes an amuse bouche of very interesting ice cream (varies from party to party). Then delicate and subtle sweet potato mousse with pecan wafer and orange cranberry sorbet for me, intense warm chocolate tart with excellent pink... More

The concept is nice: a three course meal of desserts. And the presentation is good. But nothing (save a tiny butter cookie) is especially delicious. And the small room is noisy and cramped. I cannot imagine any restaurant in New York that employs a pastry chef not doing better. Therefore, if it is possible, have your dessert where you have... More

This review is for Dessert Club, ChikaLicious which is the Takeout version of the original dessert bar located right across the street at 204 East 10th Street since there was a line outside the door. We were a group of 6 celebrating a friend's birthday & wanted dessert after Japanese BBQ at nearby Yakuniku West. There are a few tables... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
