Great cakes

The food here is really good, my wife wanted to go because of sex and the city, I couldnt get enough of the mars bar cake. Awesome, very busy though.

The bakery was clearly popular as people were queuing down the street to get in. The queuing is definitely worth the wait. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. It is located next to a very nice park were you can sit on the benches and enjoy your food. Definitely worth the visit!

Visited here with my husband and sons on my birthday whilst on vacation in NYC. The cheesecake was the best I ever had and the latte lovely too. My son had the apple crisps and he loved that. Busy so obviously popular. We took our treats over to a lovely leafy park area and enjoyed them there. Gotta go when... More

This must be the best bakery in NYC. We tried their banana pudding and it's delicious!!! There are always a lot of clients and there's isn't much space to eat your dessert in the bakery. Better take it out!

Went to Magnolia suggested by a friend. Great cheesecake. Unfortunately there are no tables or a place to sit, other than the crowded park across the street.

Is it maybe over rated?? It is undoubtably famous because of the SATC link, but I have had just as good cupcakes in other bakeries, and probably cheaper ones too... It's small which means you don't feel you can linger over your selection as there are so many people wanting to get to the counter, but it is nice to... More

I'm from Australia and one of the main things I heard about before I came was Magnolia Bakery. I was disappointed as the cupcake stuck to the wrapper and broke to pieces, and even as a cupcake lover I didn't finish it. I decided to give Magnolia another shot and had one from 6th avenue and it was way better.... More

What's not to love about cupcakes and Magnolia's does it so well! Enjoy a treat from a wonderful bakery.

We were excited to be visiting this bakery as avid SATC fans, but we're really disappointed. The cakes were good but the service was appalling. I would recommend visiting a different magnolia bakery, there's plenty more in NY, we visited the Bloomingdales branch, much nicer and great service.

My daughter and I stopped here to pick up a few desserts for later. We chose the blueberry crumb pie in a single serving cupcake tin, a coconut macaroon and a chocolate chip cookie. The blueberry was divine, the cookie very tasty and the macaroon dry, maybe a day old? Not sure. We would come back for sure!!

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
