Cakes Worth Waiting For

My friend and I made a pit stop to Magnola Bakery for dessert after our walk to find a wee queue in this small bakery. They had a big selection of cupcakes, cheesecakes and cakes. My friend went for a slice of red velvet and I went for the blueberry crisp ( similar to a crumble) , both which... read more

We didn't find the bakery location but had their goods at Grand Central Station Food Court. Their mini banana cream pie was devoured by our family in under 3 sec! Super yummy and will visit their main bakery on our next trip!

Their cakes and pastries were excellent, we'll stop by again when we stay in the village in May. Nice assortment and friendly staff in a great location, the West Village and this place are a great place to visit.

Ok stayed around the corner at Perry St but did go here twice. First time late at night (11pm) short wait and full selection of cupcakes and cakes. The next time went here at 6pm and long wait (20 minutes). Service is good and cheerful. The red velvet and vanilla bean cheesecake both Devine and tasty hence a second visit.... More

We tried their banana pudding and it was totally ok, but it was not out of this world. We went here since many people told us to drop by and since we were in the area it was totally ok and the prices were fair comparing to other places so totally ok.

the Keylime Cheesecake. THE BEST EVER! I'm not even a fan of cheesecake, but this cheesecake is outstanding. One of them is plenty for two people, however, I don't like sharing. Every bite is heaven!

I visited this bakery twice during my stay in NYC and the red velvet cupcakes are divine. The bakery is usually packed but people come in and out quickly so if there is as line, it is worth the wait.

We stopped by to take dessert back to our hotel. Everything was well presented and very tasty. We especially liked the pistachio eclair.

We found the selection of cupcakes beautifully overwhelming. Decided to order a few small ones - so we could try multiple flavors - but we later regretted the decision. The bigger cupcakes are more moist and flavorful. Avoid the small ones. Incredible, magnificent, richly smooth banana pudding!! The pudding itself is worth another trip. Don't miss that hidden gem. Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
