Cupcakes were good...

I dont think they live up to the hype...but they were good. To me the cake was good and the icing was better. Service was non-existent ...very crowded and only a couple of flavours to choose from. Worth trying: yes. First choice in NYC: no

Magnolia's is known for their cupcakes but in reality their cupcakes are JUST ok. The hidden gem behind this fine establishment is their banana pudding. if you ever wanted to know what heaven actually tasted like just try Magnolia's banana pudding. I dare someone to try it and provide negative feedback! I'm not even a banana lover and this is... More

We knew USA is the cup-cake fatherland and wanted to try this very renewed bakery. There are always many people in this very little bakery but the tasty experience is worth the time spent on the line. We had 4 different cup-cakes and the "magic" combination between the butter-creamy topping and the tender cake was excellent. A "must" if you... More

I visit Magnolia Bakery every time I'm in NYC because of their banana pudding. To me, it is amazing! All the rest doesn't impress me - the cupcakes are way to sweet, the cheesecake was quite average ... But for a Sex and the City fan like me, it's a must :)

Wanted to visit because a Sex and the City fan and saw Carrie visiting here many moons ago. Bought a box of six cupcakes, not impressed and would not use again. Staff were a bit rude. The cakes were a bit dry and the frosting wasn't nice. Noticed some of their cakes had a sign on saying that they were... More

Go if you are a Sex and the City fan. But with so many wonderful bakeries in NYC, it is a waste of time and money to go there and have a very regular cupcake and have no place to sit.

When we visited in the morning to just have a look, there was a great variety on display but when we went back in the afternoon to buy, most of their cupcakes were gone so we decided to join the fast moving queue and order some cakes. I tried their carrot while my husband opted for their truffle chcolate cake.... More

Thought the shop exterior was very cute and really liked the location. A little disappointed when I walked in as I thought it lacked a little love. I soon realised that none of this mattered! There was an abundance of cupcakes and other cakes and with such a wide selection of flavours, it took a few minutes to make a... More

Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
