I have been hearing about banana pudding since ages (Thanks to SATC:)). Although I was full and had no space in my stomach for a single bite, I did not want to lose the chance to taste the banana pudding when in the neighborhood of Magnolia Bakery. I was quite sure that I would only taste the pudding, one bite... More

Visited the East 42nd location one late afternoon. We were trekking back to the Waldorf after a day of tourist things in the freezing cold weather, Popped in the Magnolia Bakery and it was warm, steamy and crowded with locals. We decided on a 'slab' of lemon cake, 2 forks and a chocolate milk. we hustled back to the room... More

Tried the cupcakes....they were delicious, but the unexpected surprise was the banana pudding.....out of this world!!!! I bought the most recent cookbook which has the recipe in there, which I will definitely try if I can find all the ingredients in the UK! Worth a visit.....oh, and the Sex and the City link still impresses me!

I went here twice during my trip to NYC. I tried the chocolate cupcakes, chocolate cheesecake and banana creme pie. The frosting on the cupcakes is delicious! The cupcake itself I think is cooked a tad too long. It's a little hard on the outside and not incredibly moist. If they were a tad softer these would be to die... More

Magnolia started the cupcake craze and it's still the best. Go at an off hour to skip the lines and know what you want before getting in line. Magnolia is still the best.

Whenever I am in New York, I absolutely have to make a stop at Magnolia. I am not easily impressed because I bake extensively myself and often get asked to sell my baked goods. Magnolia knocked my socks off. The flourless chocolate cake was among the best flourless chocolate cake I've ever had and I can make a mean one... More

The Red Velvet Cake from Magnolia Bakery is the best I've ever had. We were on Central Station and didn't have the seat problem. I highly recommend it!

Nice atmosphere, and it's coffee has improved since it signed a deal with Peet's... but if you can't have (or want to cut back on) sugar, Magnolia offers no alternatives. Not even a decent piece of bread.

Definately a must see in NYC. My favoutite was is the vanilla bean cheesecake. Best: you can take the experience home with you with the cookbook. Some nice little presents for baking-queens
