get the yuca benedict!

They don't accept ressos (at least not for brunch). The best time to come would probably be before 1:30. That's around the time a friend and I got there, on a Sunday and they just happened to have a table left for us. Another two people came in right after us and they were told it would be a 40... read more

New Year’s Day brunch at 4pm? Not many restaurants in Manhattan would be happy to cater for a group of six, hungover and hungry, but Yuca was there to indulge our cravings. Officious service brought us feasts from the Kitchen of Earthly Delights: Crab Cakes Benedictos were fabulous, Yuca Benedictos remained sturdy and tasty under the pressure, and the grilled... More

We have tried ti miss the restaurants around Times square in order to avoid the long queues and similar foods. Just downtown on 1st avenue many good venues can be found but Yuca Bar offers excellent different South American cuisine. The portions were large, the choice fantastic and the service excellent. I can recommend the paella and the sharing mains.... More

We went Friday night, the place is actually small and was very crowded and a lot of noise, this is probably bad for a date but during a Friday night we were expecting what we got, as we were a group of friends. We went to a Latin flavored placed to feel that aliveness with the music, and the chattering, etc.... Went to Yuca Bar for a Sunday Brunch. The food was delicious and authentic tasting. The price was also a surprise coming in at $17 for the the brunch special. Included were drinks, the Sangria was delicious, coffee/tea your entree and a side. The Yuca fries were amazing, the sweet plantains melted in your mouth. The grilled steak was like... More

Across the street from Thompkin Street Park you'll find this crowded, noisy, hipster, South American bar restaurant. The tables are packed too closely and music is too loud but if you get there early enough you'll be treated to an inexpensive and delicious brunch with a powerful but poor quality drink. The service is relaxed and friendly. You'll bump elbows... More

This is a cute, little latin american restaurant. We usually order from the tapas menu & share. Sharing is Caring!! There isn't one thing we've ordered thus far that we haven't liked. The yuca burger is a must try if your in the mood for a burger. It has tasty shrimp in it & we order it with manchego cheese.... More

I visited at 10 AM on a weekday morning for brunch. I had a tasty Spanish-style egg dish, garnished with a few greens, which included a good Bloody Mary and coffee. The service was excellent, but I cannot help thinking that for the East Village, a $25 breakfast is too pricey.

I came into the restaurant on Wednesday this week with a few of my friends for a birthday dinner. It was a little crowded when I came in but the hostess took my name and told me a table would be available in less than 10 minutes. It wasn’t even 5 and he came back over to seat my party.... More

Yuca Bar has a nice ambience, good food and service. Lively spanish music, packed bar and nice outdoor seating.

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
