Description: Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York location provides a warm and vibrant setting for our award-winning authentic Mexican cuisine. Designed by David Rockwell and launched in October 2005, this stunning restaurant features architectural accents inspired by the late, famed Mexican architect, Luis Barragan. The internally illuminated electric-blue tiled water wall features cliff diver figurines and candles among the cascading water to separate the bar from the main dining room. Warm terracotta and yellow colors with hot pink accents are featured throughout the restaurant as well as traditional, one-of-a-kind Mexican crafts, fabrics and artwork. This combination creates the perfect backdrop for the festive atmosphere and innovative Mexican cuisine of Rosa Mexicano.

.... You will get good food but beware of the strong cocktails or you might not live long enough to see your delicious desert. Honestly, the freshly prepared Guacamole was amazing, even though I like it better with some lime but who's judging, and both or mains and desert were very good. The setting is nice enough and you can... More

With all manner of foods of flavour sand ingredients that you just don't find at your everyday Mexican joints. Sure there are some standards, but with entrees like whole roast pork shanks, or the beef ribs, you're sure to find something new that will surprise and please you!

We went to this restaurant based on the recommendation of friends. The ambiance is warm and the place fills up real quick. We had reservations at 5:00 so we did not have to wait. When we left two hours later, there was a line outside the door. Margaritas, while small, are the real deal and tasty. We had guacamole made... More

This location is one of my favorites because of the energy and high ceilings. Guacamole is a must when dining. Red sangria is my first choice visiting here. I was disappointed because they got rid of the filet with wild mushrooms and replaced with a skirt steak which isn't the same but good. Churros is always the way to go... More

Fabulous seafood for mains and the guacamole entrée was prepared at the table and was delicious. Good wine, nice atmosphere, good service, reasonable pricing .. easy walking distance from Union Square - what more could you ask!! Probably the best food we had in NYC. Recommended.

Busy noisy modern Mexican. There is a long bar good for an afterwork drink. Beef Mestizas enchilada $22 very tasty with tender beef and good flavors. The vegetable tacos $17 was a smaller meal. The house merlot was fine. We didn't have the guacamole which is prepared fresh at your table but it looked good too.

This was an engagement celebration. Unfortunately, we originally made the reservation for the wrong date. It was very busy, but Lili got us a table within 15 minutes. Thank you Lili.. The service was timely and attentive. My niece and fiancé felt very special. The food/ drinks were perfect for our celabration. Thanks also to Eddie our server. He was... More

We were shopping in the neighborhood and decided to have lunch here. Sometimes a chain is just a chain, but Rosa Mexicano gets a lot of things right. Best guacamole made right at your table in big stone mortar and pestle bowls. I tried the Cuban sandwich (hesitantly because Miami is THE place for Cuban sandwiches) and I was not... More

I enjoyed a lovely meal here with my husband. The decor is lovely and we sat in a booth next to a floor to ceiling lit waterfall. The tables are nicely spread out rather than crammed in unlike many restaurants. The service was excellent with friendly, helpful staff and just the right time gap between courses. I am not normally... More
