Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York location provides a warm and vibrant setting for our award-winning authentic Mexican cuisine. Designed by David Rockwell and launched in October 2005, this stunning restaurant features architectural accents inspired by the late, famed Mexican architect, Luis Barragan. The internally illuminated electric-blue tiled water wall features cliff diver figurines and candles among the cascading water to separate the bar from the main dining room. Warm terracotta and yellow colors with hot pink accents are featured throughout the restaurant as well as traditional, one-of-a-kind Mexican crafts, fabrics and artwork. This combination creates the perfect backdrop for the festive atmosphere and innovative Mexican cuisine of Rosa Mexicano.

Nice Place to taste Mexican Food

Very good Mexican food. Start with Guacamole. It is a must to try. Tacos are also very good and well served. Good place to go with family.

Great guacamole made right at your table and you must try their signature Pomegranate Margaritas and Mojitos!!! The atmosphere is so upbeat, I'm addicted. The menu is truly imaginative for Mexican food. Highly recommend it.

I have dined at Rosa Mexicano near the Lincoln Center a number of times and always loved my experience there. We were in NY with two other couples and of course I recommended we eat at Rosa Mexicano, however this time chose Union Square. What a disappointment! I do not have one good thing to say about this place. The... More

We choose this restaurant because the bday girl wanted Mexican food. A mutual friend came here once before and said we should try here. She was right! The service, food and everything about this place will make you come back for sure. The pomegranate drink was my favorite. The waitress was so friendly and funny. The prices are affordable and... First off, great service, even fit the US, this was great service from the moment we WA walked in to when we left. Secondly, the guacamole is amazing. They made it fresh, right in front of you and to your taste preference. Thirdly, the food was simply exquisite!

we eat here one lunchtime during our visit to NYC and found it was very good Mexican food. The guacamole is prepared fresh in front of you at the table and the whole place was busy and had a great atmosphere. Also prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Wandered upon this by accident on our way to The Strand Bookstore. Very spacious, super clean with a great menu . Not your typical Mexico-american cuisine. Try the Kale and Salmon chopped salad , it's amazing. Great vibe and excellent service !

Everything was great - service, drinks, atmosphere, food! We loved the fresh guacamole and everyone loved their meal. I would recommend making a reservation as it can get very busy.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
