Description: Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York location provides a warm and vibrant setting for our award-winning authentic Mexican cuisine. Designed by David Rockwell and launched in October 2005, this stunning restaurant features architectural accents inspired by the late, famed Mexican architect, Luis Barragan. The internally illuminated electric-blue tiled water wall features cliff diver figurines and candles among the cascading water to separate the bar from the main dining room. Warm terracotta and yellow colors with hot pink accents are featured throughout the restaurant as well as traditional, one-of-a-kind Mexican crafts, fabrics and artwork. This combination creates the perfect backdrop for the festive atmosphere and innovative Mexican cuisine of Rosa Mexicano.

The food here is good, but seasoned with way too much cilantro. I mean everything you order has a fist-full of cilantro on it, and it becomes the only thing you taste. I didn't expect to have to tell the waitress for each item "light on the cilantro", but in hindisght that seems to be what you have to do.... More

The food here is excellent! Very well presented and amazing flavors! The street corn was a first for me and was delicious! I highly recommend the freshly made pitchers of sangria and if you like guacamole, they prepare it fresh table side. They have an insane selection of tequila, probably the largest I have ever seen. The location is large... More

The menu at this chain has changed a lot since I first visited 4 years ago. To be honest, I wish they hadn't changed it, all my favorite dishes are gone. However, the food is consistently good and one portion is enough to feed two people. We came in for lunch and split an appetizer and entrée, and ended up... More

Mediocre Mexican food. Expensive. I do not understand all the glowing reviews. What prompted this review was the 20 oz sangria listed on the menu ($14). No way the very small pitcher held 20 oz of anything. I was informed that "management" dictated the amount of sangria, ice and fruit. Don't get it ...cheap red wine, fruit juice, a lot... More

Upon recommendation from my son who took his wife to Rosa Mexicano-Lincoln Center, we decided to give the Union Square place a try. The guacamole prepared tableside was so fabulous; we ordered another for our main meal! The avocados were so fresh and the flavors blended perfectly. We could have stopped right here, but of course we had to try... More

This is a great place. Beautiful interior and super nice staff. They do the guacamole at your table and the food is great. Plus they have a regular sized menu of just tequila! They have everything from lower end to hundreds of dollars a shot. Seriously! I love this place. Have been here a few times with and without the... More

Visited Rosa's for second time this year while in NYC. Took 3 friends from Arizona, where we have some very good Mexican food. We all loved the food and service. Guacamole prepared table side is a mist!! White sangria delightful as well! Entire staff friendly and attentive!!

Celebrated my friend's 40th birthday at Rosa Mexicano in Union Square. We were a party of 12 and opted for the family style dinner, which was incredible. The staff is amazing. A big shout out for Dawn the manager and our waitress Suzanne. Great food, great ambiance and great service. Can't ask for more.

I had the wonderful opportunity to dine here with my sister and mother on a girls trip to NYC. This restaurant came by a recommendation of 3 separate people-all of whom have lived in NYC and in my opinion, make good food choices. Overall, the meal was tasty and we felt pricing was fair. Specific comments are below: Staff: Exceptional.... More

aguacate at the table prepared with your choice of spicy, fresh ceviche, and excellent skirt steak that has been marninated, these are some of the great offerings at this mexican eatery. Service was first rate, with our waiter fully familiar with all of the plates.
