Description: Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York location provides a warm and vibrant setting for our award-winning authentic Mexican cuisine. Designed by David Rockwell and launched in October 2005, this stunning restaurant features architectural accents inspired by the late, famed Mexican architect, Luis Barragan. The internally illuminated electric-blue tiled water wall features cliff diver figurines and candles among the cascading water to separate the bar from the main dining room. Warm terracotta and yellow colors with hot pink accents are featured throughout the restaurant as well as traditional, one-of-a-kind Mexican crafts, fabrics and artwork. This combination creates the perfect backdrop for the festive atmosphere and innovative Mexican cuisine of Rosa Mexicano.

This is a very good Mexican restaurant. They prepare the guacamole in front of you and it tastes great. The service is efficient but not great. They do have a brunch which is well priced at 20.00 The food is good.

Just went here for the first time in a few years on a Thursday night. And it is everything that I remember. If you are looking for a quiet and intimate evening, this is not the place for you. If you want a fun and loud night with lots of drinks and great guacamole, then this is the place to... More

Good points - it's a big place, nice decorated, not packed, friendly service, very tasty food and strong cocktails. Negative points - it's a bit pricey. NYC is weird - you can easily get good cheap food, generally cheaper / better than in Europe (Example: pizza. You just can't get a decent pizza in Europe under 10EUR.) However as from... More

Rosa Mexicano has been a favorite of mine for many years, and now they have updated their menu to include more taco and enchilada choices. The guacamole is always great, and the tacos now on the menu are also really good. It's a little noisy in the place, but that's okay -- the swimmers on the wall and the bright... More

.... You will get good food but beware of the strong cocktails or you might not live long enough to see your delicious desert. Honestly, the freshly prepared Guacamole was amazing, even though I like it better with some lime but who's judging, and both or mains and desert were very good. The setting is nice enough and you can... More

With all manner of foods of flavour sand ingredients that you just don't find at your everyday Mexican joints. Sure there are some standards, but with entrees like whole roast pork shanks, or the beef ribs, you're sure to find something new that will surprise and please you!

We went to this restaurant based on the recommendation of friends. The ambiance is warm and the place fills up real quick. We had reservations at 5:00 so we did not have to wait. When we left two hours later, there was a line outside the door. Margaritas, while small, are the real deal and tasty. We had guacamole made... More

This location is one of my favorites because of the energy and high ceilings. Guacamole is a must when dining. Red sangria is my first choice visiting here. I was disappointed because they got rid of the filet with wild mushrooms and replaced with a skirt steak which isn't the same but good. Churros is always the way to go... More
