Description: Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York...
Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York location provides a warm and vibrant setting for our award-winning authentic Mexican cuisine. Designed by David Rockwell and launched in October 2005, this stunning restaurant features architectural accents inspired by the late, famed Mexican architect, Luis Barragan. The internally illuminated electric-blue tiled water wall features cliff diver figurines and candles among the cascading water to separate the bar from the main dining room. Warm terracotta and yellow colors with hot pink accents are featured throughout the restaurant as well as traditional, one-of-a-kind Mexican crafts, fabrics and artwork. This combination creates the perfect backdrop for the festive atmosphere and innovative Mexican cuisine of Rosa Mexicano.

Great sangria, tasty food

Perfect for happy hour and really nice decor/ambiance in general. Pitchers of sangria are reasonably priced and definitely a great happy hour find.

Excellent Quac there! They hand make it in front of you which adds to the experience for sure! The food was good but the margaritas were wonderful. Very nice place near Times Square but not too close, not overcrowded or too loud. Nice place to relax and have a drink..or 6!

We had a great mexican dinner in this restaurant. The place and the waitresses are just great and friendly. Ask for the home made guacamole done in front of your table: just fabulous. The shrimps ceviche is tasty and good too. A good adress.

I like it. Great vibes , good food and cocktails. It's nice either as aperitif or for dinner . For friends mostly however you can have a good but- not- romantic treat with your partner . I went a lot of time to the one in Dubai and i can tell that the food quality is always high ( though... More

I've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. If you're in the mood for great Mexican cuisine you'll not be let down by coming here... The fresh quacamole made at your table is a special treat. I had the Budin de Pollo last night and it's now my favorite item on the menu..it's hard to describe...like chicken pot... More

Went to Rosa last night with 4 friends visiting from overseas. I've been here before but not for a few years so we wanted somewhere casual but nice and near the bars of union square. We were definitely not disappointed. Service was friendly, quick and efficient and the wait staff knowledgeable. We started with some margaritas and the obligatory guacamole... More

I went with a large group of friends and we all enjoyed it. We want to come back and just have margaritas and guacamole... cause the guac is to die for ! I had the sangria and really liked that . The service was great and food delish. I liked the loud, fun, bustling feel. Not the place though for... More

The dishes here are not your typical mexican food. The steak with tequila mushroom sauce is out of this world, and the guacomole and chicken taquitos are not far behind.

I've eaten at all three Rosa Mexicano locations over the years and found them enjoyable. Recently went to Union Square and got the Desde 1984 special they have going at the moment. My DH and I had the tableside guac, shared the pollo pibil and chille poblano relleno entrees and churros with dipping sauces for dessert. At $32 per person,... More

Our first stop on the #50LooksGood tour for the famous pomegranate margaritas. These are something that NYC should crow about more! They were amazing. Another good tip? Sit in the front window because there is a fire station across the street. Cute fireman with the most amazing driving skills--you can back up a fire engine into a garage in one... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
