A reminder of Paris!

My friend and I recently ventured here for lunch and were delighted! It's a small French bistro right out of a Paris postcard. The place is quiet and spotless and the service efficient and friendly. I love the place and the food. Cozy (maybe a bit noisy) but typical French bistro. Good selection of wine and steak-frites not to miss.

Cozy bistro tucked away in the East 50s. A little slice of France in the City, including the music! Excellent service in a low key and welcoming setting. Typical French menu with all the standards you love and a nice wine list. The duck breast was a standout, excellent terrine and a real baguette for the bread basket. A flight... More

The food and the ambiance in this restaurant is just like being in France. The only downside was that the portions are bigger than we expected so after having a starter we couldn't finish our delicious mains.

Bateau Ivre starts dinner w/ a wine tasting, at no charge of a selected bottle chosen by staff. The bistro is charming and cozy w a long list of regional wines. The food menu is authentic & each dish well-prepared & delicious. We enjoyed mussels in white cream sauce, tuna tartare, cheeseburger w/ frites, chicken w Roquefort mashed potatoes, and... More

This place had amazing Capri salad, French onion soup was the best I ever had. My husband said the Duck was the best he ever had along with the Creme Brûlée.. They were very accommodating even without a reservation. It is a quaint and romantic place to dine!

In New York solo and read the reviews for Le Bateau so I decided to give it a try. The food was great and the service was exceptional. I started with a gigandos wine and tune tartar. Main course was duck and a french blend suggested by the bartender. This was a great experience and would highly recommend.

I thought I was in Paris when I went to eat at this lovely French restaurant. Staying at the hotel next door, I spotted this restaurant upon arrival to the city. Later, talking to an NYC resident, I learned that this restaurant was highly recommended. I was going to go anyway, and I enjoyed the pleasant staff, food, and setting.... More

Always a pleasure to have a good glass of wine, eat proper steak tartare and talk to people from all over the globe. The place is often packed with expats and diplomats as the UN is nearby, making for a wonderful mix of cultures. People are in general always open for a nice chat and many interesting conversations have followed... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
