Delightful Sunday Brunch

Food was delicious. Great selection of wines. Prices reasonable and sardelaise potatoes, yummo. Haven't had those since my trip to Normandy and enjoyed every mouthful.

We ordered cassoulet , cote de porc, paillard de poulet, steak frites, onion soup, and lentil soup. Both soups were very good. All the entrees were very flavorful. I recommend reservations as it is a small intimate restaurant. It also has seating at the bar.

We went here for dinner the night after visiting the Smith, round the corner, and it was an interesting contrast. The food is well-executed and flavoursome: my bouillabaisse was delicious, even if my wife's description of her skate wing served with plain boiled potatoes as

What a great find. Fortunate to have the manager to be our server too. He could advise on dishes and each suggestion was right on. Coordinated wait staff. Quiet enough to hear our friends and yet personable enough that there's good energy. All dishes were excellent. We will be back.

Just walk in and order the onion soup and the duck with a glass of the French wine on the menu. You will be rewarded. The food was great and the atmosphere very classic French bistro. Not fancy. Just comfortable. It so happened that the people at the tables on either side were speaking French to each other. That seemed... More

After many locations with TVs and bright lights it was a real pleasure to enjoy good French food in a comfortable and pleasant setting. The food was good quality and generous portions and we were impressed by the complimentary drink at the end of our meal. A good choice if you want somewhere away from the bright lights.

We enjoyed both the atmosphere and the food at Le Batteau. The wine list is long and the menu is short. My lovely dining companion ordered an excellently prepared escargots appetizer and the duck breast entree. My grilled chicken breast was perfectly grilled, but I didn't anticipate the large dollop of "le beurre" (butter) placed on top of the chicken... More

Followed up a night on Broadway with a late dinner here. As soon as you walk in the door, you are transported away from the chaos of NYC to the coziness of a French bistro. Food was delicious - french onion soup and the pork chop with mustard sauce were standouts. Excellent wine list with good recommendations from the waiter.... More

This was a warm and cozy place for a delicious dinner. The soup of the day - potato leek was great. The Onion soup also terrific. Skate meunière was a large potion - and the duck breast was cooked perfectly. Attentive service from nice and kind wait staff. I would return here.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
