A Hidden Gem In Midtown East

I have been to this lovely unpretentious wine bar at least 5 times. The wine selection is good, the food is great, and the price is reasonable for Manhattan. I have always had a friendly courteous waiter/waitress and have always had a pleasant experience. When in MidTown East this is my "go to... read more

For after hours, this is a good place. Food was good, and service was also good. If you like a dark atmosphere it's the place. Wine list is good, but different from wine list on web site.

This is a perfect romantic place for couples. The food is excellent with a good range of choices. It is a good idea to save some room for dessert. Also this restaurant stays open until 4:00 a.m. which is great if you happen to be out late. The staff is also very friendly and helpful if you have questions about... More

Good food and a nice atmosphere. I enjoyed my steak frites au pouvre. Classic French wine list. I would recommend it for a romantic evening.

Located next to Pod51 hotel on a side street in Midtown Manhattan, this comfortable place served us some of the best paella and duck a l'orange even quite late on a weekday night. Not noisy with very attentive staff. The impressive wine list will bring you back again, though, as in Paris, the beer list won't.

After making reservations at the restaurant next door but finding it too noisy, we luckily stumbled upon the quiet refinement of Le Bateau Ivre. It's small, but tastefully placed mirrors give it a larger aspect. Open to the street, the atmosphere is intimate but inclusive of the sidewalk vibe. Served by Bojan ("boy'-an"), we enjoyed a fine French meal with... More

We were in NYC for Mothers Day and four of us had brunch at Le Bateau Ivre. It was absolutely delightful. The food was great; it was a pleasant sunny morning and all of the doors were open, giving it a great outdoors feel, and there was a charming 3-piece jazz band. I could have stayed there all day.

Food was delicious. Great selection of wines. Prices reasonable and sardelaise potatoes, yummo. Haven't had those since my trip to Normandy and enjoyed every mouthful.

We ordered cassoulet , cote de porc, paillard de poulet, steak frites, onion soup, and lentil soup. Both soups were very good. All the entrees were very flavorful. I recommend reservations as it is a small intimate restaurant. It also has seating at the bar.

We went here for dinner the night after visiting the Smith, round the corner, and it was an interesting contrast. The food is well-executed and flavoursome: my bouillabaisse was delicious, even if my wife's description of her skate wing served with plain boiled potatoes as

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
