Charming cafe featuring a jazz trio at weekend brunch. The most affordable & equally delicious meal we've had in the city. Ambiance was lovely with doors that open to the sidewalk & decorated to be a little slice of Paris right in NYC. Now, on to the important part... Eggs Benedict were some of the best I have ever had!... More

Very quaint and comfortable wine bar located in a restaurant area on Manhattan east side. Traveling from out of town, we happened upon this French restaurant. We were sat at a table for two opening out to the sidewalk, which was perfect and fit the French style. We had two different waiters that suggested a great red wine. Both catered... More

Let me preface this review by saying that this is the first ‘terrible’ I have ever given and I do not do so lightly. I have been coming to LBI since it opened which was something like 14 years ago. I have loved this place, which makes this review all the harder to write. Over the years, I would come... More

One of the nice things about staying on the east side is proximity to Le Bateau Ivre, a wine bar on E 51st between 3rd and 2nd avenues. It combines a huge all-French wine list with what the New York Times calls, fairly enough, "basic bistro fare." The kitchen is open until 4 am, which must make it a hit... More

Le Bateau Ivre is a great French restaurant. The food is delicious, the wine list is very good, the staff is friendly. I always try to eat there every time I am in the city. Comparing to other French restaurants it offers good value - especially considering it's in the Upper East Side. I recommend eating there after hitting the... More

I took my sales team for a group dinner. Ages ranging from 22 to 59 and all loved it. The food, the atmosphere, the service, the wine were all wonderful. It was a rainy night, but the doors were open so we enjoyed the city air as we ate, duck, mussels, pork, hamburger, onion soup and more. We all enjoyed... More

I'm so happy we stumbled upon this place, as soon as you walk up you instantly recognize and feel the Frenchness, really cool. I ordered a charcuterie plate the was incredible, it probably is a starter for two... but I ate it all. For my main I had the mussels, which I've ordered probably 50 times in my life all... More

Just down the street from the New York Palace is a fantastic little French bistro. Fantastic escargot, foie gras, mussels in wine sauce, and a reasonably priced wine list. Small, with a mountain of charm and character--check out the bottles of great French wine on the wall some very lucky person drank.

I was just out walking and trying to decide where to eat - after passing a few pubs and a sports bar - it was great to see a wall of wine bottles to welcome you in. I sat a the bar and watched as the whole restaurant filled up. I could see the tiny kitchen and wondered if. I... More

Le Bateau Ivre is very Parisiene. From french speaking waitstaff to a well selected easily digested menue. French onion soup is the real thing,Steak frites the best ever, duck l'orange inpeccably prepared and a fresh strawberry desert with whipped cream, ice cream and aged balsamic was outstanding.
