Whenever we get the chance, we choose Nocello.

It sounds like I repeat myself when I speak about wonderful restaurants. They all have an ambiance that says welcome and enjoy! They all have a wonderful, on-site owner. They all have a great wait staff and a kitchen staff that does magic in their domain. Nocello has all these things and more... read more

This place was great.. We ordered the carpaccio and a special burrata appetizer... Both great. For the main I ordered a special veal chop with porcini sauce... I say with all sincerity - this was "Italy Grade" food... Go to this place with confidence...

I can with a group of six women, and we all had a fabulous experience at Carmine's. We ordered a bit of everything from the menu, salads, appetizers, pasta, the specials, etc., and everyone left happy and satisfied. I personally had the penne pasta with pink sauce and peas, and I ate every bite... I was quite miserable when we... More

Food and atmosphere were perfect for quiet dinner date. The food was the best meal i have had outside of Italy. Would highly recommend this place.

Nocello is about as close to a true Italian restaurant as you can find in NYC. The place is not large but properly lit and has a long-term, competent and friendly staff. They have a good wine list with a few excellent mid-priced bottles. We have never had a dish at Nocello that we did not enjoy. Since the restaurant... More

Nocello still performs and is one of my favorite places in NYC. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is fresh, well prepared and well presented. I prefer to sit in the front dining area - it's neat to see the street view from an almost basement. The menu offers pasta, seafood, veal, beef, chicken - there something for... More

After reading the menu and finally deciding on Rigatoni Imperatore, the waiter comes over and informs us of the many specials for the evening. I still went with a pasta dish - Homemade Fettuccine with Lobster and Shrimp in Vodka Sauce but was very tempted on swaying towards the Osso Bucco with Spinach Risotto. One of my friends went with... My wife, out of town friends and I were looking for a place on the West side of Manhattan to have dinner. My wife remembered that we wanted to try Nocello. What a nice surprise. The atmosphere is lovely, the restaurant is quiet (you can actually have a nice conversation without shouting), the service was excellent and the food was... More

I picked this place by chance for a quick client lunch and all of us were extremely satisfied with the quality of the food, ambiance and service. The portions were just right and the staff friendly and attentive. I certainly plan on returning with friends as it was a solid dining experience.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
