We had theater tickets and it was raining, so we chose this place as much for location as anything. Service was great (a plus for theater goers) but ambiance was dark and dingy, and the food was bland and lifeless, with a very poor wine selection. Next time we will find someplace else, I am sorry to say.

We needed a semi-private room to celebrate our son's graduation from Columbia. We contacted many restaurants until we found Nocello. They were professional and easy to work with. They helped us on every detail. They handled some serious food allergies with ease. The restaurant is beautiful. The back room where we had two large tables was elegant, cool and comfortable... More

Nocello is not going to be the best Italian food experience you ever have, and it isn't even "the best Italian restaurant in New York", as they humbly declare on their menu. But it is a lovely restaurant, with a decent pre-theatre dinner served in a friendly and efficient atmosphere. We were very satisfied with our visit. We arrived at... More

Very cozy little Italian place with super friendly staff and owner. A good variety of items on the menu and prices vs quality/size are very fair. Looking forward to returning to this place.

We chose Nocello after reading TripAdvisor reviews, as we were staying in the area. We enjoyed a delicious Italian meal. The dining room was long and narrow with linen covered tables, candles, and interesting wall decor. There were two other dinning areas further back. Our waiters were excellent; friendly, and personable, quickly answering our questions and efficient in serving. The... More

My family and I had a lovely dinner at Nocello earlier this week. After a few disappointing meals to start of our New York trip, our experience at Nocello was most welcome. We brought our young children, who were made to feel most welcome, and for whom the restaurant was happy to provide a sauceless linguini. I had the vitello... More

My family and I ate at the restaurant in 2013. At that time the food was excellent so we decided to return this year only to find real disappointment in their quality of their entrees. First, the 6 of us each split a pasta dish as a starter. The pasta itself was very good. Sauces were a little heavy (the... More

We have been to this place before. We took a visiting relative there on a Saturday night. The prix fix menu was first rate.

My wife and I ate at this restaurant on Thanksgiving. They had a set menu for about $50 per person (drink not included). You could pick from about 4/5 appetizers, a salad or soup, then an entrée, and dessert. For appetizers I had the butternut squash gnocchi and my wife had the mushrooms. I liked the gnocchi a lot. It... More

Lovely decor, good service and delicious food. My only complaint was the salad was meager and the lettuce was brown on the edges but tasted fine. My veal marsala was excellent.
