nice atmosphere and terrific service. Excellent apps! But a little disappointed in main courses. They were bland and the gnocchi was like mashed potatoes

Had dinner at this iconic Chelsea/Flatiron restaurant tonight and both food and service was wonderful. We had 2 entrees - salmon filet with lemon caper sauce and steamed broccoli, and rib-eye steak with grilled asparagus and twice-baked potato. Absolutely delicious and very filling. Nice atmosphere - would definitely go back again!

Had dinner tonight at this iconic Chelsea restaurant and it was delicious. I had the salmon filet with steamed broccoli and lemon caper sauce and my husband had the rib-eye steak with steamed asparagus and twice baked potato, and 2 glassed of very nice Montepulciano wine. Service was also wonderful. It was a delicious meal and a wonderful experience.

My husband and I ate at Aleo before a show at the Metropolitan Room (just 2.5 blocks away). I'm a vegetarian, he is not, and we both had many delicious options to choose from. I had the pumpkin ravioli, which is handmade at Aleo, and he had the Frutti di Mare -- we were both very pleased with the quality... More

I went to this restaurant on a Friday night with my high school friends. We were served by a delightfulp young waiter who was on his second night on the job and was very anxious to please us. The value of the restaurant was very good due to a 25% discount that we got from a Transmedia card. I began... More

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am glad you enjoyed the Salmon Tartar. We buy our fish whole daily, and do all the prep work in our kitchen. It is time consuming and (sometimes) many hours of work, from the market to the table. Therefore, it is exciting when someone enjoys it and is happy enough to... More

The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. Great Italian restaurant. Pete, the owner, is a fantastic guy and made the dinner even more special. Have been there many times and will always go there when I am in Manhattan.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
