fun place, okay food

Place is fun - great atmosphere, lights everywhere you look, the birthday celebrations are very festive. Cramped space and seriously if someone is not svelte they will be unhappy and bumped into frequently. My friends were complaining that the chairs were too small for them (they are average sized... read more

the food was mediocre but definitely not bad, so going for the atmosphere and for a relatively cheap meal is definitely worth it.

Can't believe I hadn't eaten here with all the time I've spent in NYC! It was small and crowded and loud and full of lights and amazing energy and the service was friendly and fast! Plus...great Indian food! BYOB and cash only, so be prepared. I highly recommend this dining experience for friends, couples, and special fun occasions! What a... More

My family and I have been going to this place for years, so much that my bridal shower was held here. It is truly a little hole in hall, but it is so much fun! The inside decor is over the top, the staff and food is wonderful, the prices are cheap, and best of all- it is BYOB! It... More

This restaraunt is located to the left of another Indian restaraunt up a set of stairs and the two owners will try to urge you to their place instead of the other. We chose left. The place was small and uniquely decorated. The food was reasonably priced and very good. The owner brought out extra food for us to try... More

I have been coming to Milon for many years now with some friends. It is not the best Indian restaurant in town (which one is?? hard question) but we just love it! i recommend the Assorted Appetizers, Keema Paratha, Kofta Malai, Chicken Tikka Byriani, and my by far favorite : Chicken Makhani. The Mango ice creme in the end is... More

One of the reasons, well I guess not one, why I love this place is because of the cute decoration combined with great food and you can bring your alcohol! This place is such a fun place to come with your friends and just drink and eat and take photos lol. Would consider bringing my tourist friends here, since new... More

The food is excellent and is delivered very fast. You must bring your own alcohol, but there is a liquor store conveniently close by. The only drawback may be that the tables are crammed and the ceiling is extremely low, this is not good if you are a bit claustrophobic, but otherwise it ads to the unique atmosphere.

The place is amazing, the lights, and the food is very good and not very expensive. You can bring your wine or beer, and the people is very friendly.

I loved my evening at Milon! It was fun, the atmosphere was amazing, the lights magical (some would say tacky but I say magical) and the food cheap and averagely good. It's definitely not fine Indian dining, but you don't pay for fine Indian food, the food is cheap and fine but it's the atmosphere that makes this place a... More

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
