We had not been to Cafe Riazor on 16th Street on the edge of Chelsea for over 30 years. When we first moved to NYC back in the early 80's, this was our go-to place. The neighborhood and NYC has changed so dramatically since then, but, we pleasantly discovered just recently, Cafe Riazor has not. The ambiance is still a... More

Food, service and atmosphere each deserve 5 stars! Pleasant, quiet place to relax and enjoy a meal. Try the tapas plates, especially the calamari, green beans, mushrooms, shrimp and olives. Service is friendly and helpful.

Six of us went there on Friday January 3rd. It was quiet because of the snow storm that hit the previous day. The server gentleman was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent. I had the Tilapia and it was excellent! Everyone else had various Tapa dishes and they were all very good. I would definitely recommend this place... More

Been dining (with family and business) in Riazor since its sister cafe Rio Mar closed down (early 2000's) as Meat Market rents escalated beyond reason pushing out neighborhood quality for corporate over-priced. (Had been dining and entertaining at Rio Mar since 1986!) And now at Riazor since then. Food is superb. Honest. Authentic. So trumps Sevilla. And if you like... More

My workplace is near Chelsea Market in NYC. We discovered this restaurant while walking to the well-know Loehmann's discount clothing store. Took a chance and had lunch there. What a wonderful surprise. The lunch menu is really inexpensive @ approx. $12-15 with a menu offering a variety of dishes--veal, steak, fish, shrimp served with white/yellow rice, french fries, mashed potatoes.... More

My husband and I have been going to Cafe Riazor for years and have brought numerous frieinds. The food is fresh and delicious, especially the tapas! And the service is very special: the people running this restaurant really pay attention and even remember our favorite menu choices.:) Plus, prices are definitely modest by NYC standards. I highly recommend Riazor. It... More

My brother, Jim, has been going to this wonderful family restaurant for 20 years. When he wanted to celebrate his 50th birthday with friends, he picked Cafe Riazor -- we took 3 tables in the back by the kitchen. Good choice! Riazor is a friendly, welcoming place. The sangria is good and the chorizo and shrimp appetizers nearly perfect. I... More
