We had brunch here and it was very good. I had standard breakfast fare -- it was good -- but the potatoes were out of this world! :) The rest of my family enjoyed their meals too. Service was excellent and attentive. Very nice experience.

we were directed to this restaurant by our tour guide on the hop on hop off bus...so glad we took his suggestion and went there for lunch...this is a family run business, and from the minute we walked in the door, we were made to feel so welcome...we sat outside and between 4 of us, had everything from ribs, fried... Ate here a on the recommendation of our bus tour guide. Awesome service and great for people watching. we had lunch and sat outdoors, though when I walked through the main restaurant to the toilet, it felt like it would have been a great atmosphere indoors. Food: Ribs: Delicious - sweet & tender Candied Yams - SWEET. Like, way too... More

Everytime I come to New York I have to stop by here. and anytime I come I have to bring anyone I know. The lemonade is so good and so is the food. I am definately saying 5 stars but expect to have a table conversation while you wait on service.

Many people recomended this restaurant, I don't! Boring food and nothing spesial here. It costed me $25 each way with a taxi from Broadway, it was not worth it.

I finally made it to Sylvia's after hearing about this place for so long. I left feeling cheated. The food was good, but nothing special. I expected better than the soul food I can get at home every Thanksgiving. I expected the food to have been elevated somehow. It wasn't. The mac & cheese was just ok. The yams were... More

Came here having heard amazing things but wasn't really blown away. It was nice enough but not worth going out of your way for. Also as a tourist felt very much like a second class citizen as the main seating area seemed only for locals.

Sylvia's was so good that we went back a second time in our five day trip! The three of us decided to get something different so we could taste a variety of the food... I'm so glad we did. Everything we tasted was delicious. It was worth the crowded subway ride. One thing... Be patient!! It took awhile before our... More
