Very unique decor, but the food is top notch!

Saying the decor is unique might be an understatement. Very vibrant colours that almost reminds me of some place in the Bahamas. Gordon Ramsay would rip everything out and remodel.. However, I feel that it's of no importance. You feel welcome and it's peaceful. Very far from trendy raw-food venues... read more

My partner and I went to Organic Grill twice on our recent trip to New York (dinner and lunch), as it was very close to our apartment. Both times, we received friendly service, although on the second visit (Sunday lunch), our waiter seemed run off his feet, and our service suffered as a consequence. The meals were quite slow to... Highly recommended if you enjoy delicious, fresh, seasonal organic food! We visited in December and the best seasonal offering was the most amazing mulled wine in a fresh cored apple! My new favourite cafe in New York!

I've been wanting to go to this place for the past 5 years and I finally got to come with a friend last week! yay! I love this little restaurant. It has a nice ambiance and food was good. I ordered the famous 'Green Machine Burger' which came with a choice of soup or salad. I had the beet soup... More

One of my favorite NYC vegan eateries. Great tasting with lots of variety and good prices. The staff is very personable and knowledgeable about the what's available. We go as often as we can when in NY.

Small, great find on the lower east side. The slider sampler was good, the buns appear to have been homemade, and the greens were garlicky and delicious. The tempeh bacon (side) and the peanut pie were just so so.

I came here with a friend for a quick dinner bite to eat. everything is vegan or vegetarian - whatever it really wasn't my kind of spot. I must say though that it really was tasty. They used fresh ingredients to make pretty unique dishes which kept me satisfied as we continued our adventure. I might not be back again... More

My daughter just moved to the neighborhood and we were looking for a place for dinner that was vegan friendly. This restaurant was recommended to us by a couple of people we asked on the street. Being the vegan diner in the group, I loved it! Although they do offer fish on the menu, my husband and daughter also chose... More

Great sunday bunch for veggies and vegans. Most everything you could order with organic eggs or tofu scramble. They have fresh juices as well that you can make your own combination. They had GF items as well. Super small place, but very friendly and laid back. We booked in for brunch, which was a good thing as they were full... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
