Great food!

I have been to this place five or six times, and I live thousands of miles away. When I go to NY, this is the place I eat --- whether by myself or with friends.

I used to live in Argentina and this was the best Argentine meal I have ever had! My girlfriend and I are huge food lovers and we savored an amazing appetizer of freshly made empanadas (spinach and cheese/ham and cheese) and a perfectly cooked chorizo imported from Argentina. The main reason we chose AZUL was for their authentic Milanesa and... More

We have had 3 great experiences at Azul. The food is always amazing, the staff is wonderful, and I love the atmosphere - cozy, but romantic. I would highly recommend the empanadas and entrana - accompanied with a glass of malbec of course! We also tried the panqueques - dolce de leche crepes the last time we had dinner there... More

A group of us had booked for a Sunday night and had been recommended to this restaurant and had such high hopes. The evening didn't start well when we found out that they only did wine and beer and no spirits which unfortunately is what I drink so I opted for diet coke which I had to ask for several... More

We had a dinner in Azul Bistro with my wife and another couple and it was a very nice experience! In a nutshell, the food was great (assuming you like meat!), the service was friendly and nice and the overall feeling very, very nice. We didn't know the place before but we will be back next time we visit NYC.... More

Azul was recommended to us by a bar man from Lucky Jacks, we were not disappointed! We ordered the empanadas to start, which were delicious, fresh and hot. We then ordered the Sirloin for 2 which was melt in the mouth divine. The atmosphere and service was great. I reccomend this restaurant to anyone going to NY and it will... More

Having been there multiple times (since 2004!), I must say this brings Argentina right into the heart of New York. This statement has been supported each time I've been there with Argentinian friends. If you want to enjoy a good steak with some great Argentinian wine and enjoy all of this in an honest and good spirited ambiance, then Azul... More

We ordered skirt stake and it was served cold.... The wine was ratheer expensive... They did not want to take credit card... The food in general was very Americanized... Not worth a visit

This is Argentine food at its best. Wonderful steaks. Very good wines (if somewhat expensive). Decor is quite in the mood. The morcillas (blood sausages) were excellent. We had two little kids with us so they made breaded chicken with mashed potatoes for them which they loved. Service is efficient but on the very limit of courtesy.

LWE restaurants are in general small, and Azul is no different but it leads to the problem of needing to turn a table quickly which is the one downsides of this very nice local restaurant. The food is very good and comparable to other Argentine options in NYC, but be advised nothing beats going to the original BA; Buenos Aires.... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
