Really enjoyed my birthday dinner here... A little tight space but the appetizer and the main course compensated .... Sorry didn't like the waitress too much though but she was ok

I love Greek cuisine and have been to many of Astoria's Greek restaurants as well as eleven trips to Greece. Pylos offers traditional Greek food with a modern flare. I loved the grilled octopus with a nice touch of sweetness and added caper berries. The lamb shank rivaled the best that I've had in Kos, Greece. Worth coming back to...... More

We had out of town guests and wanted to take them someplace SPECIAL. We could not have made a better choice. Octopus, scallops, lemon chicken soup and calamari salad were EXCELLENT. The room was pleasantly calm and inviting. Cannot wait to go back for dinner.

Last night in NYC & looking for something different & special..Pylos in the East Village certainly filled my desires.. Upon entering, 100's of clay pots hang vicariously from the ceiling enclosing the cozy, quaint restaurant below. Seating is close, yet comfy along an exposed brick wall adding charm and a family feel to the overall experience. Service was outstanding and... More

We love this place. This is our second visit. We don't know much about Greek food. With wonderful guidance from our waitress, we picked a perfect wine, and made all the right choices for food. It's rustic, but modern, and very intimate. It has a family feel about it. We love it!

This was our families second visit and it certainly lived up to our expectations. The Greek / Mediterranean food is prepared with a nice touch of authenticity but yet offers other dishes that are blended and amazing. Our appetizers were Pylos light as air Greek Meatballs, Grilled Octopus, Grilled Sea Scallops. All I can say it they were WOW. My... More

Pylos is a very authentic and charming restaurant in the East Village. The food is excellent, the service is inconsistent. Make sure to reserve in advance as it is often booked. The decor is very Nicely done with contemporary and Greek elements. Their green and Greek salads are delicious as are appetizers like the fava beans. Great fish and sides.... More

Went to Pylos last night with my wife to meet our friends who flew in from the Left Coast. They picked Pylos and my initial reaction was "good choice" based upon the reviews. We got to the restaurant and the waitress was friendly and helpful in suggesting Greek wines. Once our friends arrived the waitress advised us of the evenings... More
