Great For Brunch

This place can get a bit crowded weekend mornings but I think its worth at least a moderate wait. The brunch specials are a good size, reasonably priced and very good. Egg dishes come with a salad. Service is attentive if sometimes distracted, but they don't rush you out of your seats even if there... read more

We actually attended a small wedding reception here. Table of 10. Had a great Hummus and Salad. Will definitely go back again to try some of the other specialties on the menu

Forget about all the Moroccan food you had so far. At Mogador Cafe you will have a transcendental culinary experience that will change your life. The atmosphere is great, the food is excellent and the service is really kind. Order the lamb tajine and you will know what I'm talking about.

Dinner on Friday night was worth braving the cold and approaching blizzard. Mezze all delicious - particularly the flat bread, more like naan than anything else - and tagines well spiced and balanced flavors. Orange and almond cake was the perfect finish to dinner. Definitely recommend this place but turn up early if you want a table because you cannot... More

Came here as a family of 5 with various dietary needs. We all had delicious dishes, from start to finish. The service was just superb. And the atmosphere was fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening here.

What a treat to find this great little Moroccan gem in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Our family wanted some good lunch and this is exactly what we found at Mogador Cafe. The decor makes you feel like you are sitting in a Moroccan outdoor market and the menu selections are quite nice. We started with the delicious warm... More

Was there with friends and really loved the place. Great cuisine, good service and a very pleasant atmosphere. A bit squeezed for tall people like me.

This was our first time at Café Mogador, 101 St Mark's Place, New York City; we found it quite by accident about noon on Friday of Thanksgiving week and glad we did. We ordered their "Special" Breakfast that included Juice a choice of Orange, apple and Cranberry, Cappuccino or Regular coffee, rye toast or toasted baguette, and eggs as you... More

We found the café "by accident", looking for a place to eat before going into the "Gangster Museum" (great visit). I am French from Paris and often used to eat couscous in North African restaurants. I have missed that in the States, and this was a find. It was delicious, as well as their falafels. It didn't hurt that it... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
