After a budget visit, we decided to splurge our last evening, and selected Boca Chica. What a fantastic time! Without reservations, we were seated promptly and served with enthusiasm. Our server pointed out that it was happy hour - 2 for 1 margaritas - how could you pass that up? Properly relaxed, we ordered Ropa Vieja and Pescado Vera Cruz.... More

Just ate here for the first time in at least 15 years. It had been a favorite place of mine in the 90s. The food was actually.better than I had remembered. My son had the huevos rancheros and ate them so fast I didnt even get a taste. I had some sort of seafood stew (a special) that was a... More

Our group of 17 had reservations at a nearby restaurant, and showed up to find that the restaurant was closed, and we could not get in touch with anyone to find out the issue etc. Boca Chica to the rescue! Yes, it was a Monday night, but still they were more than happy to accommodate our large group as a... More

Brilliant mid priced food, lovely and friendly staff who were helpful but not overbearing. I enjoyed the food and thought the complimentary refried beans etc were excellent. One of the better meals I had in NYC.

The price on the food was pretty good for New York City. But the food wasn't very special and the service was definately lacking. I think they were a bit understaffed. Not a place I would choose to go back to

You can find some of the tastiest latin-american food in NYC at this affordable restaurant. Check out the daily specials on the menu. I had the shrimp ceviche and it was amazing! Waitstaff is friendly and relaxed. Good spot for a light bite or VERY filling meal. Generous portions!

Our large group ordered a little of everything. The appetizers were carefully prepared and subtly spiced. Nothing disappointed. I will go back as soon as I can.

First of, let me say that on a Saturday night, either you show up before 6PM or after 9PM. If you show up in between those times you will be waiting for a table, maybe for a long time. But this is true for most restaurants on a Saturday night in NYC. I was part of a group of 8... More

We found our way to Boca Chica after trying to find somewhere fun and friendly to dine in the 'Eat' Village. We'd made our way over from Midtown on a pretty chilly January night, so were definitely in the mood for some great South American hospitality. After a short wait at the bar (we hadn't booked), we were seated and... More
