Why do restaurants like this get overlooked? Because they are in NYC

We went to the Nada Sushi on 50th because it was cold, windy and next door to the hotel. What a lucky break that was. The sushi was excellent. Big selection, excellent quality and cheap, cheap. cheap - for anywhere - not just New York. Very helpful staff. Small, cozy, just the place ofr a cold... read more

Probably the best Japanese we'd tried. Excellent food and great service. We'd ate there tree times. Each time the bill was under $40 per two persons.

Not bad but you can get the same thing at your local HEB! Not impressed at all but understand it is suppose to be one of the best.

Stepping in here feels like going back in time, due to the decor. Everyone was very friendly and it is good to watch the food being prepared before your eyes. Well placed just off Lexington Avenue

Poped in for quick bite and had a great experience. The service was just great , not intrusive but very attentive and pleasant. Had delicious pork dumplings and two sushi rolls that were also great and together with a tasty Japanese beer and ice cream it was a recommended early dinner. Adding the fact that the prices were decent made... More

The master sushi chef, who is also the owner, is there every night and has helmed this humble, intimate, and delightfully authentic sushi bar since 1976. It's truly like stepping back in time when you enter this all-pine-wood and white-walled well-worn treasure. Be prepared to give your best bow and smile when you are greeted by the crisp hostess (also... More

Lot's of choices in Manhattan. The place is nice enough sushi bar in front and then you walk through the kitchen to the back room. The service was okay the waiter was hard to understand as the accent was heavy. Hard to tell if he was japanese or maybe Korean. The sizes were very small which is rarely a problem... More

Great place. The place is very simple in decor but the sushi is excellent. Much better than other fancier restaurants in the area. I will definitely come again.

I lived in Japan for over five years and this felt like stepping into any number of local restaurants in Japan. Decor was perfect, service very good, and food authentic. Prices were very fair. I had an appetizer, sushi roll and large Udon bowl for $20. During a second visit, Gyoza and Tonkatsu were tried, and both were good. Definitely... More

We ate at Nada twice and as it is next door to the Benjamin so it was very convenient when we were staying. It is a no-frills restaurant but the sushi was very fresh, service was attentive and it was good value. Cannot understand the comments about not being "Japanese enough". Staff is Japanese, many diners were Japanese and the... More
